What is this tour like?
The Gulf off Dubai is a working sea, not a postcard: kingfish, queenfish, cobia, grouper and barracuda over marks the captains have been fishing for years. A four-hour charter is enough to try both ways of catching them.
On the way out the crew sets lines for trolling, which is how the fast pelagic fish get taken. Once you're on the marks the boat holds position and you drop for bottom fish. Professional rods and reels, squid and lures, hooks and weights are all on board, and so is an icebox for whatever comes up.
The boat is yours for the session — up to six guests, one captain and crew, no shared seats. Water and soft drinks are included, and you're allowed to bring your own beverages. If you want the catch cooked, the crew will do it for AED 100 a head, and a Dubai hotel transfer can be added for AED 350 per vehicle.
