On Phu Quoc a day of diving is sold as a package, not as a dive: the boat leaves once in the morning, drops you twice, feeds you between the dives and comes back in the afternoon. That is why the interesting question is not "how much is a dive" but "what does the day include" — and here the centres differ far more than their price lists suggest.
Four centres, one number. Vietnam Active, Phu Quoc Diving Club, Ecodive and Kimie's Tours in the south all publish $90 per person for two dives. Compare the inclusions, the group size and the harbour instead of the price.
What does a two-dive day cost?
Vietnam Active's fun diving day is $90 per person for two dives, and the centre spells out what that buys: high-quality equipment including a dive computer, all fees, a fully certified PADI instructor or divemaster, a light breakfast, lunch, fruit, snacks, water, tea and coffee, and pick-up and drop-off at your hotel. Nitrox is available on request. The centre dives in groups of four maximum and does not mix different levels of training in the same group.
Phu Quoc Diving Club, an SSI centre, also asks $90 per person for two dives, with a full set of diving equipment, hotel pick-up and drop-off, a professional dive guide, drinks, snacks and lunch on board, and the boat trip itself. Ecodive publishes 90 USD per pax for fun diving in the south and describes the water rather than the buffet: most dives run to 18 metres, advanced divers go to 30, and the profile is a mix of multi-level and drift dives.
Kimie's Tours charges $90 per person for two fun dives in the south over a seven-hour day with a pick-up at 08:00–08:30. Equipment and hotel pick-up in Dương Đông town are included; other areas are surcharged, and gratuities are not included.
Where does it cost less — and why?
The northern trips are the cheaper ones. Two dives off northern Phu Quoc are $78 per person for certified divers and $85 for those without a certificate, seven hours door to door, with a stated water depth of nine metres. The boat is a wooden one and takes about an hour and a half from Dương Đông harbour, usually to Turtle Island. The operator states plainly that north dives only operate in the dry season, November to April.
Flipper Diving Club prices the same choice in dong: one dive in the north 1,400,000 VND (about $54), two dives 1,900,000 VND (about $73), one dive in the south 1,800,000 VND (about $69), two dives 2,400,000 VND (about $92), per person, with hotel pick-up, lunch, snacks and drinks.
This club also prices by where you sleep — a guest staying in the north pays 1,000,000 VND (about $38) for one dive and 1,500,000 VND (about $58) for two, a guest staying in the south 2,800,000 VND (about $108) and 2,900,000 VND (about $112) for the same dives. Their fun dives are for certified divers only, and diving in the north is not available from 10 May to 20 October.
Two centres where the unit needs a question
Poseidon Diving School publishes $90 for its fun dives with high-quality equipment and free pick-up, in small groups, with daily departures on half-day or full-day trips. The page does not say in words whether that figure is per person or per boat, so treat it as a price to confirm rather than a price to budget with.
Vietnam Explorer, on the island since 2004, publishes $90 per person for two dives of 45 to 50 minutes each, depending on air consumption. That figure was published by the operator in a blog post dated 11 November 2024 rather than on a product page — it is what the centre has said, not a promise about the coming season.

How is the day built?
The timings the centres publish are almost identical.
- Vietnam Active picks up between 7:30 and 8:30, the boat leaves the harbour at 9:00 and is back between 14:00 and 15:00.
- Phu Quoc Diving Club collects at 7:30–8:00, departs at 9:00, dives at 10:00 and 11:30 and serves lunch at 12:30.
- Kimie's counts seven hours from pick-up to drop-off at 15:00–15:30.
If you were planning an early flight on the same day, note the standard warning the PADI centres on the island repeat: wait 12 to 18 hours after diving before flying.

Is equipment included?
At Vietnam Active, Phu Quoc Diving Club, Flipper, Kimie's and Poseidon, yes — each of them lists gear in the price, and Vietnam Active includes a dive computer. Ecodive and Vietnam Explorer publish the price without an itemised list, so ask before you pay.
Where do the boats go?
Southern trips work the An Thoi archipelago — Vietnam Active names Coco Island, Roi Island, Pineapple Island, Kim Quy, Dry Island, May Rut, Bat Island and Lighthouse Island among 17 sites across 12 islands. Northern trips usually run to Turtle Island, where the maximum depth is about six metres.
What if the weather turns?
Departure times on Phu Quoc are set by the sea, not the clock: several operators state that times depend on daily water conditions and that a trip can be cancelled if the sea is unsafe. Nobody on the island promises visibility, and Vietnam Explorer says outright that peak-season visibility here is rarely what you get on Vietnam's eastern seaboard, because Phu Quoc sits close to the Mekong delta.
