What is this tour like?
Dominican Emotion run the long version of the island: Canto de la Playa, the village of Mano Juan, a beach for lunch and the natural pools. $90 per person from Bayahibe, out at 8:30 and back at 17:00.
The operator is explicit about what makes this format different: four places on the island rather than the natural pools and lunch alone, and a group capped at 35 people on a fast boat. Guests from Bayahibe and Dominicus hotels are collected from 08:30; the departure itself is from the public beach at Dominicus, which the operator times between 08:50 and 09:00 — the earlier figure is the pick-up, the later one the moment the boat leaves.
The beach stop with the buffet lasts about two and a half hours, and the last call at the natural pools about fifty minutes. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are served through the day, on the boat and on the beach: rum, cola, sprite and water on board, with orange juice, coffee and beer added on the sand.
From Punta Cana the same excursion costs $120 and runs from 07:00 to 19:00; from the cruise port at La Romana it starts at 08:00 and returns around 17:30, with the port departure tax included. Professional photography is offered on request for $45 and is not part of the price.
