What is this tour like?

Dubai sells a lot of "diving" that never leaves a swimming pool. This one does: after the classroom part you get on a speedboat and go out to open water.

The session runs in three stages. Half an hour of briefing at the centre on Al Wasl Road, half an hour of practice in shallow water so the regulator and mask stop feeling strange, then the boat ride and the dive itself — thirty to forty-five minutes at ten to twelve metres, with the instructor within arm's reach the whole time.

You need to be able to swim and be at least ten years old. Everything else — full scuba kit, towels, slippers, refreshments on the way back and the photos and video of your dive — comes with the price.

What are the highlights?

  • A real sea dive off Dubai — not an indoor pool
  • No certification needed, minimum age 10
  • Down to 10–12 metres with an instructor beside you
  • Speedboat transfer from the dive centre to the site
  • Underwater photos and video included

How deep do we go?
Ten to twelve metres, with the instructor beside you for the whole dive.
How long does the whole thing take?
Three hours in total: thirty minutes of briefing, thirty of shallow-water practice, the boat ride, and thirty to forty-five minutes underwater.
Is the price per person?
Yes — AED 450 per person, plus VAT. Two people come to AED 900 before VAT.
What should I bring?
Swimwear and sunscreen. Towels, slippers and all the scuba gear are provided.
Where do we meet?
At the dive centre, Villa 604 on Al Wasl Road in Jumeirah 3. The boat leaves from there.
Can children take part?
From ten years old, provided they can swim.
Do I get photos of the dive?
Yes, underwater pictures and video are included — you don't pay extra for them.
What if I panic underwater?
That's what the shallow-water half hour is for. The instructor stays within reach and you can end the dive whenever you want.
