What is this tour like?
Ao Thalane bay sits about 25 minutes west of Ao Nang, and it is the classic half-day paddle in Krabi: a sea inlet that runs inland between karst walls and branches into mangrove channels shallow enough that a beginner can relax in them.
The day starts with a hotel pick-up between 08:00 and 09:00 from Krabi Town, Ao Nang, Klong Muang or Tub Kaek. At the bay the guide leads the group through the mangrove forest, where crab-eating macaques and kingfishers live along the banks, then out along the shore to the sea caves formed by overhanging rock. Around noon the group turns back to the pier.
The tour is priced at ฿895 (about $25) for an adult, ฿795 for a child aged 4 to 12, and free for infants under 3 — per person, stated as such on the operator's page. Lunch is optional: a Thai set lunch prepared while you paddle costs ฿200 per person more and is ready when you return. Drop-off is between 12:30 and 13:00.

A driver collects you from your hotel; the exact time depends on your area. The drive to Ao Thalane takes 10–20 minutes.
