Krabi Mangrove Kayak — Baan Sai Poh (Saipoh Kayak Krabi)
Three hours in the mangroves and sea caves of Nuea Khlong, on the quiet eastern side of Krabi, with a local family that ends the trip with fresh coconuts.
Krabi, Thailand · 3h · ฿700 per adult · EN
We had a wonderful and unexpected afternoon kayaking. We called two hours beforehand and the experience was so genuine and personal. Our guide led us through the mangroves, shared stories, and taught our four-year-old to kayak.
What is this tour like?
Baan Sai Poh sits in Nuea Khlong district, on the eastern side of Krabi province — the side the day-tour minivans do not use. Saipoh Kayak Krabi is the local family that works this water: the tour is three hours through the mangrove forest, past hidden sea caves, with a guide who knows the ecosystem and the village.
The operator runs two departures, a morning pick-up between 08:00 and 08:30 and an afternoon one between 12:30 and 13:00, and states the best season as September to April. The route depends on the tide: the operator writes plainly that the most beautiful time for paddling may depend on the natural tides.
The price is ฿700 (about $19) per adult and ฿300 per child under ten, and covers drinking water, seasonal fruit, life jacket and safety equipment, insurance and the local guide. Guests describe being welcomed with coconuts afterwards and, in several cases, eating at a floating restaurant nearby.
