What is this tour like?

Blue Stars Kayaking has run kayaking, snorkelling and sightseeing trips from Koh Samui to Ang Thong National Marine Park since 1997. The day is built around the kayaks: two paddling sessions rather than one, and the first of them is at Koh Tai Plao in the remote far north of the park, where the operator says it is normally the only boat — rock overhangs, tunnels, small caves and a hidden lagoon.

A 23-metre tour boat leaves Nathon pier at 08:00 with a light breakfast on board; the fleet is Ocean Kayak Malibu II sit-on-tops, each taking two adults or two adults and a small child, and each carrying a dry bag so a camera can come along. After Koh Tai Plao there is swimming and snorkelling, then lunch on board while cruising to Koh Mae Ko for the short but steep climb to the platform above the Emerald Lake.

The last stop is Koh Wua Talap, where you choose one thing: kayak around the adjacent islet, climb to the park viewpoint, walk to Bua Bok Cave with its stalagmites, or simply stay on the beach.

The boat leaves the park at 15:00 with fruit and a snack for the way back, reaching Samui at 17:00 and your hotel by around 18:00. The price is ฿2,800 per person and the marine park entrance fee is inside it.
