What is this tour like?
Two dives on Sail Rock (Hin Bai), the granite pinnacle between Samui and Phangan — the chimney swim-through, barracuda schools and regular whale shark sightings. From ฿4,650 per person, a full day of about 8 hours with hotel pickup at 07:45. Certified divers only.
Sail Rock rises from 40 metres to about 4 metres below the surface and sits roughly 50 minutes by speedboat from the operator's pier. Open Water divers work the upper pinnacle down to their 18-metre limit; Advanced and Deep certified divers can take the full 30 metres. Visibility is typically 15–30 m, and a thermocline is common below 25 m, so the centre recommends a 3 mm wetsuit.
The day runs to a fixed shape: hotel pickup between 07:45 and 08:30, departure from the Silent Divers pier at 09:00, about an hour to the site, the first dive with briefing from 10:00, lunch on board during the surface interval, the second dive at 12:30 and hotel drop-off by 15:30.
Hotel transfer, both dives, rental of all dive equipment, diving insurance, soft drinks and lunch on board (vegetarian and vegan options available) are in the price. Towels, swimwear and a dive computer are not. The trip runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, minimum age 10, and a valid Open Water certification is required.
What are the highlights?
- Sail Rock (Hin Bai) — the pinnacle dive of the Gulf of Thailand, about 50 minutes by speedboat
- The chimney — a vertical swim-through entered at about 18 m that exits near the top of the pinnacle
- Chevron barracuda, bigeye trevally, jacks, queenfish, moray eels, boxfish and batfish
- Free Nitrox fills for guests certified as Enriched Air divers
