Fishing in Tenerife: a shared rod or the whole boat

Two operators sell fishing on the south coast of Tenerife, and between them they answer two different questions. One sells you a place; the other sells you a boat.

No Limits Fishing's shared trip is four hours out of Puerto Colón, pontoons 11 and 13, at €85 per angler on the operator's own boats. What it does not do is tell you what is on board. The page does not itemise tackle, bait, drinks or licence cover, and we are not going to guess on its behalf — that is the list of things to settle in the booking message.

The boat: €500 to €725

Three private charters exist. Yate Sofía, three hours, €500 and four hours, €725, out of Los Cristianos, pontoon 3 berth 12 — with food and drinks the entire journey and the necessary fishing equipment included, and the option to order in advance what you want aboard. No Limits Two, four hours, €650, out of Puerto Colón, with the same silence about inclusions as its shared trip.

Same length, different inclusions

So the two four-hour charters are not the same product at €75 apart: one names the food and the tackle, the other does not.

Where is the crossover?

Compare like with like — four hours against four hours. €650 for the private boat is what about eight shared seats cost at €85 each. Two, three or four anglers are better off on the shared trip; a party of eight is better off with the hull. The catch is that neither operator publishes the capacity of its private boats, so before you plan around that arithmetic, ask how many people the boat actually takes.

Three hours or four?

The short charter is Sofía's three hours at €500. One guest review notes that a half day is “maybe not the best for professional big game” — a fair warning about how far a short trip reaches, and the kind of thing an operator page rarely says out loud. If a serious day is the point, the four-hour options are the floor, not the ceiling.
