Jet ski in Tenerife: the price is per machine, and the routes are La Caleta and Palm Mar

Three operators sell jet ski rides on Tenerife and all of them work out of the same marina, Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje. Six routes are listed, from €65 to €120, and the single most useful thing to understand before you compare them is the unit.

Per machine or per person?

Every one of the six is priced for the jet ski. WOW spells it out on both of its safaris: €70 for a single machine, €80 for a double over forty minutes and €80 single, €100 double over an hour — two people on the forty-minute double are €40 each, on the hour-long double €50 each.

JetSkiPuertoColon does the same at the top of the range: €100 for one rider on a Sea-Doo against €120 described as “the total price for two people sharing one”, which works out at €60 each.

The two contradictions to clear up before you pay

JetScoot's page says the second rider is free — “free second user… no additional cost” — and the FAQ on that same page says a second person is “an additional €10”. Both sentences are on the same page, and it does not say which one is current: ask the operator. On the same pages, booking online is genuinely cheaper: €65 against €75 for the 40-minute La Caleta run and €79 against €95 for the hour towards Palm Mar.

JetSkiPuertoColon: €100 or €95?

JetSkiPuertoColon has one of its own. The headline of its booking page says “From €100 per person” and the spec block on the same page says “€95 per rider”. €100 is the figure in the page's own booking data — ask which one applies to your slot.

Two routes — and how long is the hour really?

Northwards, the short run goes to La Caleta — forty minutes, the cheapest of the six. Southwards, the hour goes towards Palm Mar. The WOW safaris ride in V-formation behind a lead boat from pier 4: forty minutes on one, sixty on the other.

The two Sea-Doo safaris are sold as 60 minutes, of which JetSkiPuertoColon says about 45 are on the water, with arrival half an hour before your slot. Nobody else publishes that split, so treat any advertised hour as an hour of your day.

Do you need a licence, and how old must you be?

No licence anywhere: all six are guided, either behind an instructor's boat or in formation, and every departure begins with a safety briefing and a life jacket. Age is thinner. JetSkiPuertoColon publishes “single jet ski drivers must be at least 16 years old” and says nothing about the passenger of a double. JetScoot and WOW publish no minimum age at all — if you are booking for a teenager, ask first.
