Jet ski Tenerife 2026: prices, deposit, what's included

Three operators sell jet ski rides out of Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje: JetScoot, which trades as Canary Jet Ski, from pontoon 3; WOW Tenerife from pier 4; and JetSkiPuertoColon from Local 128 inside the marina shopping centre. Six rides between them, a September 2026 range of €65 to €120, and one thing worth settling before you compare those figures: what exactly the money buys.

The answer is the machine. That is not a wording detail, it is a factor of two. The sum one rider pays in full is the same sum two riders split, which is why comparing rides by their headline price is meaningless until you say how many of you are going. Below: all six rides worked out for one rider and for two, the terms of the deal from all three operators in their own words, and a separate list of what none of them publishes.

Is the price per machine or per person?

Five of the six rides carry the per-jet-ski unit in the catalogue. The sixth, the single safari from JetSkiPuertoColon, is priced per machine too — the machine simply seats one rider, so per machine and per person coincide there. That is the only exception in the six, and it does not break the rule: whenever two people sit on one machine, one sum covers both.

WOW Tenerife states it most plainly. Its safari page lists the prices in pairs: single jet ski €70 and double €80 for forty minutes, single €80 and double €100 for an hour. So the double machine costs €10 more than the single on the short ride and €20 more on the long one — that is the price of the second seat, not a second ticket. Two up on the forty-minute double works out at €40 each, on the hour at €50 each.

JetSkiPuertoColon says the same thing at the top of the range and repeats it in its own FAQ: “The €120 price is the total price for two people sharing one Sea-Doo. It includes one driver and one passenger.” Split, that is €60 a head — dearer than the neighbours, but the same unit of price.

JetScoot uses a third scheme: a price per machine plus a fixed surcharge for the second rider. Forty minutes to La Caleta is €65 booked online, the second person adds €10, so €75 for the machine and €37.50 each. The hour to Palm Mar is €79 online, €89 for two, which is €44.50 each.

What one rider pays and what two pay

The table is built from the catalogue prices for September 2026 and the second-rider surcharge JetScoot publishes on both of its ride pages. The “per person, two up” column is simply the machine price halved — no operator sells a fare by that name.

The cheapest way into the six is forty minutes up to La Caleta at €65 booked online.

Next comes the forty-minute WOW safari at €70 for a single machine.

An hour southwards, past Las Américas and Camisón beach, is the JetScoot run to Palm Mar at €79 online.

The hour-long WOW safari lasts the same and costs €80 for a single machine.

The dearest per head is the JetSkiPuertoColon single safari at €100.

The same operator's double safari is €120, and that figure covers both riders.

What changed at JetScoot: the second rider now costs €10

A year ago the JetScoot pages argued with themselves: a “FREE SECOND USER” block promised a passenger at “no additional cost”, while the FAQ further down the same page charged “an additional €10”. On the crawl of 22 September 2026 the contradiction is gone. The free-second-user block has been removed, and the surcharge appears twice instead — in the spec line (“1 or 2 people, €10 extra”) and in the important-information block (“the second user cost €10 extra”). Treat the question as settled: a second person on a JetScoot jet ski costs €10.

Where the “free” came from is explained in the site's general FAQ, which says the second user is free only on licensed jet ski rentals. Guided safaris, which need no licence, never fell under that rule — hence the mismatch the operator has now cleaned off its tour pages.

The easiest place to check is the cheapest ride: both wordings about the second rider sit on the page of the forty-minute route to La Caleta at €65.

Two more figures from the same page are worth holding on to. Photographs of your ride are €10 on top, shot by the operator's own team. And the promotions: the header of every page on the site advertises Happy Hour Sunrise and Happy Hour Sunset at €55, but which route, what duration and which hours that price covers is not stated anywhere, and there is no promotion page on the site — ask the operator.

One useful detail from the same FAQ: if the second rider is over sixteen, you may swap drivers during the ride. If they are not, whoever is sixteen stays at the handlebars for the whole trip.

Online or at the desk: a gap of €10 and €16

JetScoot is the only one of the three that shows both prices at once, struck through and discounted. The La Caleta page reads €75 and €65 at −13 %, the Palm Mar page €95 and €79 at −17 %. In money that is €10 on the short ride and €16 on the long one.

The operator's FAQ explains it without embarrassment: booking online is not compulsory, but “availability is limited, you ensure your experience and you also have better prices”. It adds that the promotions are sold through the website only.

You do not pay the whole amount up front. Under the contract an online booking takes €15 by card for each vehicle or activity reserved, and the rest is settled at the shop on the day, in cash or by card. For La Caleta that is €15 now and €50 on arrival, or €15 and €60 for two. For Palm Mar it is €15 and €64, or €15 and €74 for two.

The flip side of the discount is the refund policy. Cancel or change at least 48 hours ahead, and the money paid online is not returned: it is held as credit towards another activity. Turn up late or not at all and the booking is lost outright. Weather is the exception the contract writes in itself — “force majeure, especially meteorological causes that prevent the service”.

The terms of the deal

This is the section worth opening the operators' own pages for rather than a reseller's. Here is what the three companies say about deposits, inclusions, liability and age — quoted, with a note wherever they say nothing.

The deposit: nobody publishes one

Not one of the three names a security deposit. At JetScoot the contract section is actually headed “Payment, security deposit and reservations”, but inside it there is only the €15 prepayment and a list of what you can be billed for: late return of the machine, damage, fines and the cost of processing them, replacement of keys and accessories, special cleaning. No card hold, no figure. At WOW and JetSkiPuertoColon the word deposit does not appear on the public pages at all. If you need to know in advance how much will be frozen, this is the one item on the whole list you will have to ask about by voice.

What the price includes

WOW has the fullest wording: safety briefing, insurance, life jacket and safety equipment included, no licence required. JetSkiPuertoColon lists the most items in its FAQ: the ride itself, safety equipment, professional guidance, fuel and insurance. JetScoot's spec line says “all necessary equipment” and its inclusions block names the briefing on maritime traffic rules and life jackets; fuel goes unmentioned by both JetScoot and WOW, so it is explicitly included by one operator out of three.

What it does not include

Photographs are excluded everywhere. JetScoot prints the price — €10; WOW says photos and videos are sold separately; JetSkiPuertoColon contradicts itself on a single page, listing photos among the inclusions in one answer and stating that photo packages are “not included in the base price” in another. The second answer looks like the working one, but it is precisely the question to put at check-in. At JetScoot the exclusions also cover the second rider at €10.

Insurance sits in the included column at WOW, which is a rare line in this marina, and it is already in the price of the forty-minute safari at €70.

Who pays for damage

Only one operator answers, and it answers unambiguously. The JetScoot contract: “Any type of damage or theft during the rental period will be borne solely by the customer and will immediately assume all of the replacement costs incurred at market price.” The same document says the renter must be over eighteen and is responsible for the equipment, and that insuring against the risks is the customer's own job — “the client is responsible for being insured with adequate coverage”. A further paragraph disclaims the operator's liability for accidents, blows, injuries and damage to oneself or third parties.

WOW and JetSkiPuertoColon say nothing at all about liability for a damaged machine. That does not mean you would not pay: it means you will first see the rule on the paper you sign.

Age, height and weight

Drivers must be sixteen at all three. After that the rules diverge. WOW adds that on a double machine at least one of the two riders must be eighteen or older, and that minors need an authorisation signed by a parent or legal guardian. JetSkiPuertoColon is stricter: single from sixteen, driver of a double from eighteen, passenger from eight; sixteen and seventeen year olds who want to ride alone are given the parental consent form on site at check-in and cannot go out without it signed. JetScoot regulates the driver only and contradicts itself on the passenger: the tour page says there is no age limit as long as the companion is at least 1.30 m tall, while the site FAQ says companions must be over seven.

Weight is capped by WOW alone: 180 kg combined on a double machine. Height is set by JetScoot alone: from 1.30 m. Neither figure exists at the other operators.

Is a licence needed?

No, and this is the one point where all three agree word for word. JetScoot: “You don't need any license to enjoy this safari.” WOW: “No jet ski license is required for this guided activity.” JetSkiPuertoColon: “No driving license is required for our Jet Ski tours.” Every ride is guided, every ride starts with a briefing, and the briefing is compulsory everywhere.

Cancellation and weather

The windows differ: 48 hours at JetScoot, 24 hours at JetSkiPuertoColon, nothing published at WOW. Only JetSkiPuertoColon promises money back, and only outside the 24-hour window; at JetScoot the online payment turns into credit for another activity. All three reserve the sea for themselves: a ride can be delayed, re-routed or cancelled, and JetScoot writes this both in its important-information block and in the contract, WOW in its FAQ, JetSkiPuertoColon in its tour description.

JetSkiPuertoColon adds two medical caveats the neighbours do not: it does not recommend the ride for pregnant women, nor for people with serious back or neck problems. And one technical rule: a GoPro is fine if it is securely mounted, but handheld devices are not permitted while you are moving.

How much of the advertised hour is the ride itself

Only one of the three breaks the hour down. JetSkiPuertoColon writes it on the booking page and repeats it in the FAQ: sixty minutes is the whole experience, of which about forty-five minutes are the ride and the rest is preparation and the compulsory briefing. It asks you to arrive thirty minutes before your slot, because the booked time is the departure time, not the arrival time.

JetScoot and WOW publish no such breakdown, so their forty minutes and their hour read better as the length of the slot than of the ride. What that costs per minute is in the table below: for JetSkiPuertoColon both figures are worked out, for the others only the sold minute.

The spread is wide: a minute on the JetScoot run to Palm Mar costs €1.32, while a moving minute on the JetSkiPuertoColon double runs to €2.67, twice as much. Two up the picture evens out: on the WOW double for an hour a minute costs €1.67 per machine, roughly €0.83 per person.

All three are equally blunt about punctuality, and it is not a formality. JetScoot: “You have to be punctual at the reserved time, otherwise the reservation will be lost.” WOW asks you to come to the meeting point before your activity time but names no minutes. JetSkiPuertoColon names them: thirty.

A group of four: do the sums for two machines

Four people buy jet skis in pairs — two machines, a driver and a passenger on each. It is the cheapest way to get a group out, because the second person on a machine costs either a fixed surcharge or the gap between the single and double price, never a second full fare.

Per head the spread runs from €37.50 to €100, nearly a factor of three, and what decides it is less the operator than the decision to put two people on one machine. Four single machines at JetSkiPuertoColon at €100 come to €400, against €240 for two doubles from the same operator. That is €160 saved on one outing, at the cost of every second person riding as a passenger; JetSkiPuertoColon does allow drivers to swap at the designated stop, but only if both qualify on age.

If all four want to drive rather than ride, WOW is the cheapest place to do it: four single machines on the forty-minute safari at €70 come to €280, which is €70 a head. JetScoot has no single fare at all — it counts machines, and four of them at €65 come to €260.

Where the rides start, and how not to be late

All six rides leave from one marina, but the meeting points differ and sit a few minutes' walk apart. JetScoot waits on pontoon 3 of Puerto Colón, in San Eugenio, Costa Adeje. WOW is on pier 4 of the same marina. JetSkiPuertoColon is not on the water at all but in Local 128 of the Puerto Colón shopping centre on Avenida de Colón, where it also keeps lockers and a changing room, open daily from 9:00 to 19:00.

The routes leave the marina in two directions. North, the short ride follows the Costa Adeje shore to the fishing village of La Caleta, with a stop and a swim. South runs the hour to Palm Mar at €79: past Las Américas and Camisón beach, where a fish farm draws marine life, with a pause off Palm Mar and a return across open water with Teide in view. The WOW safaris run in formation behind a lead boat along the same Costa Adeje coast, forty minutes or an hour as you choose.

What to bring is described almost identically by all three: swimwear, a towel, sunscreen. JetSkiPuertoColon and JetScoot both want a document — passport or ID card — and JetScoot also wants the booking confirmation. WOW adds dry clothes and the signed parental authorisation if a minor is riding.

Who the three operators are

The ratings in the table are Google scores as checked on 3 September 2026. What matters in them is less the average than the volume: the dearest company has nearly a third fewer reviews than the cheapest, and WOW has fewest of all, about a hundred and fifty.

JetScoot and Canary Jet Ski are one business: the footer of jetscoot-tenerife.com carries the Canary Jet Ski address on pontoon 3 and embeds the same Google reviews. The ride pages also carry their own scores — 4.7 out of 5 from nine votes on the La Caleta page, 4.8 from twelve on Palm Mar. Those rate the website rather than the ride.

WOW Tenerife insists it works directly: “a direct local team… no unnecessary middlemen”. JetSkiPuertoColon points instead at its kit — Sea-Doo and Kawasaki models from 2023 to 2025, serviced daily — and at its own office with a changing room, which by its own account is the only one in the marina.

How the jet ski unit compares with its neighbours in the marina

Puerto Colón sells more than jet skis, and it is next to the neighbours that the unit of price shows its weight. A jet ski is priced per machine, parasailing and whale trips per person, a private fishing charter per boat. Three different logics inside one marina.

The arithmetic diverges immediately. Two people on a jet ski pay one sum for the machine; two people parasailing pay two per-person fares. And a four-hour private charter at €650 behaves like a jet ski on a larger scale: priced for the boat, so the more people aboard, the less each one pays — for four that is €162.50 a head, dearer than any jet ski here but already in the same conversation.

What to ask before you pay

A short list of questions the operators' pages do not answer. It is also the way not to be surprised at the desk.

• What sum is held as a deposit, if any: none of the three publishes one.
• Who pays for damage to the machine at WOW and JetSkiPuertoColon: the rule exists only in the JetScoot contract.
• Which of the two JetSkiPuertoColon prices applies to your date: €100 or €95 for the single and €120 or €110 for the double — both pairs sit on the operator's own pages at once, and the catalogue lists €100 and €120.
• How old a JetScoot companion must be: the tour page says no limit above 1.30 m tall, the site FAQ says over seven.
• Which route and which hours the €55 Happy Hour promotions cover.
• What weight a double machine takes at JetScoot and JetSkiPuertoColon: the 180 kg figure exists only at WOW.
• How many hours ahead a WOW booking can be cancelled free: no window is published.
