A first surf lesson in Bali costs IDR 300,000 (≈ $18) to IDR 450,000 (≈ $26) per person for about two hours, and the difference is mostly how many students share the instructor: three at Da Waves Surf and Froggy Surf School, one at Surf With Aldo. Bali Surf Class prices its lesson for one student and lists lower amounts for two and three without saying whether they are per head.

Da Waves Surf teaches on Double Six beach in Seminyak, and Bali Surf Class on Kuta beach, from a base on Jalan Raya Pantai Kuta open 8:00–19:00. Surf With Aldo meets at Warung Alody on Batu Bolong beach in Canggu, where most of its lessons run; for more experienced surfers the coach may pick another spot. Froggy's website says Balangan beach near Uluwatu, while Google Maps marks the school by Bingin.
What is included, and what is not?#
Da Waves Surf lists the surf equipment, photos, a towel and a locker. Froggy gives a board, a wetsuit, sunscreen, zinc and coffee, tea or water. Bali Surf Class's FAQ says a board is provided, with an hour of free board use after the lesson. Froggy charges extra for transport without a price, and Surf With Aldo suggests GoJek.
