I had an amazing experience with Calypso Dive Center! The team was incredibly professional and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Communication was seamless before my holiday started to arrange the first dive and during the holiday to arrange more dives. I also appreciated being picked up directly from my hotel.
What is this tour like?
Calypso is a PADI 5-Star centre in the Hotel Dunas Mirador in Sonnenland, on the Maspalomas side of the south coast, with 4.5 on Google from 96 reviews as of 3 September 2026. Its Discover Scuba Diver is listed on the courses page as an 'Introductory Experience' at €89. The footnote to the price list says complete equipment is included, and the FAQ adds that uncertified divers are covered by the centre's own insurance — the one thing rented separately is a dive computer.
The centre has no boat of its own: reviewers explain that Calypso collects you at the hotel and drives to Puerto de Mogán, where a partner boat is based, or does coastal dives depending on the weather. Reviews name Jose and Stefano as the guides and list rays, cuttlefish and a sleeping angel shark among sightings. Service is in English and Spanish.

“I had an amazing experience with Calypso Dive Center! The team was incredibly professional and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. “They have really good dive sites and know where to find the best places. Depending on the weather they do boat or coastal dives. I did eight awesome dives with them and took some photos. Unfortunately they didn't have their own boat, but they pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the harbour of Puerto de Mogán where the boat of their partner company is based. You have a good chance to spot some rays.”
“I had 2 days of diving this past week and truly enjoyed them. Jose was an excellent dive guide. He found us a couple of manta rays, 2 cuttlefish, a sleeping angel shark and lots more.”
