Almost every complaint about the price of an excursion is really a complaint about a line somebody did not read. On Gran Canaria the operators are unusually specific about their extras, which makes it possible to gather what they do name in one place. Here it is, by activity, with the unit each figure is attached to.

The unit first, the surcharge second. Jet skis are priced per machine, the private fishing boat and yacht per boat; and where an operator lists no exclusions, that is not all-inclusive but missing information — ask the operator before you pay.

First, the unit — this matters more than any surcharge

Three prices on this island are not per person. Jet skis are per machine: €60 for the 25-minute circuit, €70 for the half hour and €110 for the hour, with a second rider adding €10 or €20. The private fishing charter is €750 per boat for up to six. The private yacht is €680 per boat for four hours and eight people. A couple splitting a jet ski pays €40 each for half an hour; a solo rider pays €70.

What do you pay extra on the dive programmes?

Puerto Rico Diving is the simplest: equipment, insurance and sales tax are inside all of its Discover Scuba prices, and only photos or a GoPro cost extra at €10. Calypso at €115 includes complete equipment but rents the dive computer separately, charges €8 a day for diver insurance and asks for your medical certificate.

Davy Jones at €100 includes tanks, weights, hotel collection, transfers into the reserve and IGIC, with the rest of the kit at €25 a day or €30 with a computer.

Where is nothing published?

Some operators simply do not list exclusions: the Stingray catamaran, the Aqua Fun yacht to Güigüí, Blue Water Diving and the Davy Jones try dive. That is not a promise that nothing will be charged — it is an absence of information, and the question is worth putting to the operator in writing before you pay. At the other end, RockNatour and Pozowinds name their exclusions to the euro — water shoes at €5 and an equipment-free advanced session at €50.

Which trips are genuinely all-in?

The two small-boat days come closest: the Yellow Boat at €59 with lunch, drinks, snorkel gear and photos, and Blue Spirit at €75 with lunch, drinks, gear and transfer.

Where is a transfer already paid for?

Infinity, the Atlántida submarine, the fishing charters, Davy Jones, Calypso, the Puerto Rico Diving snorkelling trip, the kitesurf lesson within its zone and Blue Spirit from three named resorts. The full map is on the boat trips page and with each operator.
