With the help of the Cavalier crew, I was able to catch a tuna of about 350kg. It was an epic fight that I'll never forget. The two guys from Cavalier are super friendly and relaxed. They're also true big game fishing pros and have excellent tackle on board. In addition, the way the fish was handled was fantastic. No obsession with photos – very quick release.
What is this tour like?
The full charter is the same six-hour big-game day as the shared trip — 9 am to 3 pm out of Porto Novo harbour in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria — but the boat is yours. The price is €750 per boat for one to six people; from seven people the operator adds €120 per trip. That makes the maths simple: six anglers at the shared rate would be €480, so the charter buys privacy and your own schedule on the water rather than a saving.
Free hotel transfers in the south of Gran Canaria are included, as on every trip. Payment is cash only — the operator says so in plain words — and no deposit is taken. Cavalier & Blue Marlin holds 4.0 on Google from 125 reviews as of 3 September 2026; reviewers praise the crew's tackle and quick-release handling of fish, and one notes the tight schedule limits the chance of a very big one. English is the confirmed service language.

“Such a pleasant day at the sea. Almost one hour trip to our fishing spot. Lots of wind and big waves. The crew knows where these fishes are: bonitos, barracudas, stingray etc. Each person got to reel a good catch in. Some even twice. I was fishing a big one from the bottom and I got it, as well as bonito. We had some good conversations as well. You know, in the end, it's not about fish, it's about fishing.”
“We booked the 6-hour shared trip. My overall rating is three stars because the tight tour schedule seemingly conflicts with the chance of landing a truly big fish. The setup (the good): the crew was friendly, the boat was in good shape, and the snacks and drinks were adequate. We had satisfying success catching several smaller fish on the lighter spinning rods throughout the whole trip.”
