Very good experience for me and my 2 daughters. Much better advice and guidance than other classes I had in other places, the team is very friendly. The spot was windy with flat water, perfect for learning wing foil, we managed to foil on the second class!! We will come back.
What is this tour like?
Pozo Izquierdo on the east coast is where the Windsurf World Cup comes to Gran Canaria, and Pozowinds is the centre on Avenida Las Bajas that has taught there for decades — 4.8 on Google from 165 reviews as of 3 September 2026. Its wingfoil course is sold as a pack of five lessons, two hours each, ten hours in total, for €198, with equipment from Duotone, Armstrong, Core and KT included. Vouchers are valid for two years from purchase, so the five sessions do not have to fit one holiday.
One honest caveat from the reviews belongs here: a two-star review says Pozo itself is fantastic for people already familiar with windsurfing or foiling but hard for a complete beginner, while a five-star review from a parent with two daughters describes flat, windy water where they were foiling by the second class — the centre also uses the calmer Bahía de Formas nearby. Instructors' profiles state Spanish and English, and one instructor also Norwegian, Danish and Swedish. The individual advanced course (2 h, €50) is sold without equipment.

What do guests say?
“Very good experience for me and my 2 daughters. Much better advice and guidance than other classes I had in other places, the team is very friendly. The spot was windy with flat water, perfect for learning wing foil, we managed to foil on the second class!! We will come back.”
“Good for experienced / bad for beginner with wingfoil. Pros: the location is fantastic for those already familiar with windsurf/foil; easy communication with the staff; friendly instructors; wind almost all year round; I highly recommend Alicia, one of the teachers, who distinguished herself through her clear communication and teaching skills. Cons: the location, if you are a beginner, is not easy.”
“Had the lovely Alicia for my instructor who is fluent in English, French, Italian and obviously Spanish... absolute legend and is immensely patient (bad student). Met Martina the dog who I think is the owner of the company! Just a brilliant time, next will book a course of lessons instead of a one off... I still managed to stand up on the windsurfing board every time. They also very kindly arranged a lift.”
“I had some wonderful sailing with Pozowinds at nearby Bahia de Formas during my two week stay on Gran Canaria. The conditions were the best I have experienced in the Canaries and the staff were so kind and helpful and accommodating. I was sorry not to venture out at Pozo Izquierdo but I saw some impressive action there during my last two days and hopefully next time.”
