What is this tour like?

The seven-island trip covers the same water as the classic 4 Islands day, but starts when that trip is finishing. The boat leaves Ao Nang Pier at 14:45 and returns at 20:00, which means the sandbar, the snorkelling stop and Phra Nang Cave Beach are all visited late in the afternoon rather than at midday.

Dinner is a BBQ buffet laid out on the beach at Poda Island at 17:45. Sunset is watched from Tung Ming Island at 19:00, and the last stop, at 19:30, is Raeng Island for the plankton swim — bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed, but this is the stop it is planned for.

By longtail boat an adult pays ฿1,390 and a child ฿1,150; by speedboat ฿1,590 and ฿1,350. Pick-up times differ by area: Klong Muang and Krabi Town 13:10–13:20, Ao Nang 13:30–14:00. Railay is not served on this trip.

FAQ

Will we definitely see the glowing plankton?
No — bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and cannot be promised. The 19:30 stop at Raeng Island is planned for it, and the operator also reserves the right to change the route if wind or waves make it unsafe.
How is this different from the 4 Islands day trip?
Same waters, opposite half of the day. This one leaves at 14:45 and returns at 20:00, adds Mor, Tung Ming and Raeng islands, and swaps the midday buffet for a BBQ dinner on the beach plus sunset and the plankton swim.
Can we be collected from Railay?
Not on this trip — the operator lists Railay pick-up as unavailable for the 7 Islands sunset tour. Ao Nang is free; Klong Muang, Tub Kaek and Krabi Town cost ฿100 (about $3) per person.
What is dinner?
A BBQ buffet served on the beach at Poda Island at 17:45. Fruit and drinking water are included through the day.
How much for two adults and a child?
฿3,930 (about $110) by longtail boat: two adults at ฿1,390 plus a child at ฿1,150. By speedboat it is ฿4,530. The national park fee is paid separately. The park's published rate for these islands is ฿400 per adult and ฿200 per child; the operator states ฿200 and ฿100, so confirm the amount when you book.
