Krabi Sea Kayak — Ao Thalane mangroves (Sea Kayak Krabi)
The bay the operator has paddled since 1995: mangrove channels, caves and limestone walls at Ao Thalane, as a half day or a full day with lunch.
Krabi, Thailand · 4h · ฿900 per session · EN
I went on a full-day paddling tour through Ao Thalane with them, and it was an amazing experience. I was lucky to have Mr. A as my guide. He was attentive, easygoing, and shared lots of interesting information throughout.
What is this tour like?
Ao Thalane is a bay north of Ao Nang where a sea inlet runs inland between limestone walls and branches into mangrove channels. Sea Kayak Krabi has been paddling it since 1995 and calls itself the first eco-tourism and adventure operator in Krabi province; the company's base sits at Khao Thong, on the water.
The operator sells the route in two lengths. The half day covers the mangrove forest, the caves and the cliffs. The full day adds lunch and more time on the water. How deep into the mangrove a group actually gets depends on the tide — guests who paddled at high water describe channels that close over your head, and guests who came at low water describe turning back halfway.
The operator's page lists the amounts without saying whether they are per person or per kayak, so we confirm the unit and the exact departure with the operator before your booking is final.
