What is this tour like?
Krabi's fishing happens in two shifts, and this is the second one. Pickup is between 16:00 and 16:30, the boat leaves the Ao Nang pier at 17:00, and you run out to a spot the operator calls the sunset game squid and fishing point — far enough offshore that the karst islands turn to silhouettes as the light goes.
Squid fish at night, drawn up by lamps hung over the water, so the productive hours are the ones after sunset. Between casts the crew prepare what has come aboard: fresh fish and squid served as sashimi, eaten on deck. Fishing continues into the evening; the boat turns for the pier at 21:30 and you are back at your hotel around 22:00.
The price is ฿3,000 (about $83) per adult and ฿2,000 for children aged four to ten — this is a shared trip, priced per person rather than by boat. Tackle and bait, drinking water, fruit, drinks, snacks, life jackets, insurance and hotel transfers from Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Krabi Town and Krabi airport are all included. Bring a change of clothes, shoes you do not mind getting wet, and a waterproof pouch for your phone.
