What is this tour like?
Hon Bac is the newest dive trip at Vietnam Active and the centre marks it «NEW TRIP» on its own page: «Diving around Hon Bac offers a mesmerizing underwater experience». The day starts with a pick-up in an air-conditioned van or car at around 08:00 — the centre notes the time varies with where your hotel is — then a short drive to the harbour and a 60-minute boat ride out to Hon Bac, with a light breakfast of fresh fruit, snacks, coffee, tea and water on the way. All the equipment is provided and you get a detailed briefing before you go in.
The boat works two sites: around 60 to 90 minutes at the first, then a short hop to the second for about another hour, after which lunch is served — a buffet of Vietnamese cuisine with vegetarian options. The boat is back at the harbour around 13:00 and the transport takes you to your hotel. The price is $90; the booking form lists this trip as «Fun Diving Hon Bac !!! NEW TRIP !!! - $90.00», totals «Total per Person» and asks whether you are a certified diver, with an upload for your diving certificate. What the centre lists as included is broad: top-quality equipment with a dive computer, the boat, all marine park and diving fees, a fully certified PADI instructor or divemaster, food and drinks on board, pick-up and drop-off, complimentary nitrox on request and international diving insurance. You are asked to bring swimwear, a towel and sun protection cream, and the centre's own note says it is recommended to wait 18-24 hours after diving before flying. It publishes no minimum age, no group size and no dive depths for this trip, and no list of exclusions: the three-divers-maximum rule and the 50-to-60-minute dive length stand on its Hon Mun page, not here. The centre works from 15 Nguyễn Trung Trực in Nha Trang, in English.
