An electric hydrofoil looks like a magic trick from the beach and behaves like a bicycle in the first ten minutes: wobble, fall, wobble, and then suddenly the board lifts clear of the surface and the noise stops. Nha Trang has a school for it, and it sits alongside an older, cheaper layer of board sport that needs no battery at all. Here is what each hour costs.
The motor is what you pay for. An hour on the eFoil with FlyGuru is 2,000,000 VND (about $77) for an adult and 1,500,000 VND (about $58) for a child under 14, equipment and vest included. Without a motor: a private surf lesson is $65 for two hours, board rental $12 an hour, a SUP board $10 an hour.
eFoil: the price is per session
FlyGuru charges 2,000,000 VND (about $77) for a 60-minute beginner session, with equipment, vest and radio contact with the instructor in the price. The rest of the ladder tells you what the school actually does.

| Format | Time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner session, adult | 60 min | 2,000,000 VND (about $77) |
| Beginner session, under 14 | 60 min | 1,500,000 VND (about $58) |
| Individual coaching session | 60 min | 3,000,000 VND (about $115) |
| Paired beginner session | 60 min | 3,500,000 VND (about $135) |
| Tandem flight, adult | 10 min | 1,000,000 VND (about $38) |
| Independent riding | 30 min | 1,000,000 VND (about $38) |
| 300-minute pass | - | 6,000,000 VND (about $231) |
| Guided run to Turtle Island | 120 min | 3,500,000 VND (about $135) |
| eFoil safari to Monkey Island and Bounty beach | 5 hours | 6,000,000 VND (about $231) |
The school states that prices are in dong and paid on the spot, and that equipment, vest and the radio link are part of the lesson. Photo and video are separate: 1,200,000 VND (about $46) edited, 600,000 VND (about $23) unedited, and 1,000,000 VND (about $38) for twenty minutes of drone filming.
What do you need to be able to do?
For the beginner session, nothing - the instructor stays in contact through an earpiece and the board is limited. Children are accepted from eight years old, and under-14s have their own programme at the lower price. The safari is the exception: the school admits riders to it by instructor approval, on the plain condition that you already feel the board well. Five hours of riding to Monkey Island and the wild Bounty beach is not a first lesson.
Location does a lot of the work here. The school operates off Maryna Beach Club, which the operator describes as a safe bay without waves or currents - that is a statement about the spot, not about any season, but it is the reason the format holds up on days when the open coast does not.
Is there the same sport without a motor?
Kiterabbit runs the older layer from the central beach, and an hour of tuition there costs roughly half as much.

| Format | Price |
|---|---|
| Surf, private lesson, 2 hours | $65 |
| Surf, group lesson, 2 hours | $50 |
| Surfboard rental, 1 hour / half day | $12 / $30 |
| Windsurf, private lesson, 1 hour | $30 |
| Windsurf rental, 1 hour / half day / day | $30 / $60 / $80 |
| SUP rental, 1 hour | $10 |
The lesson price covers the board, equipment insurance, sunscreen and a rash vest, and the beach shower, toilet and locker are free. Transfer by the instructor's motorbike is free if there is a single student; transfer by car is agreed separately, roughly $25 return for all the students together. The school also notes on its own price page that prices may change with the season.
Kite is a separate story
Kitesurfing sits in the same school but on a different calendar. An individual kite hour is $55 and a group hour $35 per person, with rental at $35 an hour or $65 for a full day of six hours.
From November to March, though, the school moves its kite teaching down the coast to Phan Rang - a waist-deep lagoon that it says halves the learning time. If kite is the reason for the trip, that is the fact to plan around.
Is an hour enough to stand up on an eFoil?
The 60-minute beginner session is built as a complete first experience, and the paired and individual formats exist for people who want more coaching in one go.
What is not included?
Photo, video and drone filming on the eFoil side; car transfer on the surf side.
Which is the better first purchase?
If the goal is one good memory, the tandem flight at 1,000,000 VND (about $38) for ten minutes is the cheapest way to feel the foil. If the goal is a skill, the two-hour surf lesson at $65 gives more contact time for less money.
