A jet ski at Tanjung Benoa is priced per machine, not per person, and for 15 minutes, not for an hour. At Bali Jetpacks on Jl. Pratama, a ride with an instructor sitting behind you costs IDR 450,000 (≈ $26), self-drive from 16 costs IDR 600,000 (≈ $35), and 2 people on one jet ski cost IDR 750,000 (≈ $44) together. The briefing and the life jacket come with every ride; the photos, the repair of any damage on self-drive and the cancellation terms are a separate conversation. Below is what each format gives you, what the price covers and what to settle before you pay.
- Three formats: with an instructor, alone, or two on one jet ski
- What the price includes, and what the insurance does not cover
- Children and the age of 16
- Weather, booking and what to settle before paying
Important
On self-drive, damage to the jet ski is paid by the guest and is not covered by the insurance, and the operator does not publish repair amounts. If you are unsure of your riding, the instructor format costs IDR 150,000 (≈ $9) less and puts someone experienced behind you.
Three formats and one price per jet ski
A jet ski with Bali Jetpacks costs IDR 450,000 (≈ $26) for 15 minutes with an instructor. In every format you steer; the difference is who sits behind you and who can ride.
| Format | Price per jet ski | On board | Age |
|---|---|---|---|
| With an instructor | IDR 450,000 (≈ $26) | you steer, the instructor sits behind you | the only option under 16 |
| Self-drive | IDR 600,000 (≈ $35) | you alone, within the designated area | from 16 |
| Couple ride | IDR 750,000 (≈ $44) | 2 people, up to 140 kg together | driver from 16 |

The unit changes the arithmetic for a couple. Two people on one jet ski pay IDR 750,000 (≈ $44); two jet skis with instructors cost IDR 900,000 (≈ $53), and two self-drive jet skis IDR 1,200,000 (≈ $71). The weight limit decides: the operator caps the couple ride at 140 kg together, for safety and to keep the jet ski from capsizing.
What the price includes
Before every ride, the Bali Jetpacks team gives a compulsory safety briefing on how to operate the jet ski and the rules, and fits a life jacket that you wear the whole time; the ride itself is IDR 450,000 (≈ $26) with an instructor. No licence is required for this recreational ride. Eligible guests are covered by life, accident and medical insurance on the operator’s terms.
Three things are outside the price. Professional photos and videos cost extra, and the operator does not print the amount. A floating strap for glasses is sold at the base. And on self-drive, the guest pays for any damage to the jet ski: the insurance does not cover it, and the repair cost depends on the size and extent of the damage.

Self-drive: who it is for
The operator pitches self-drive at IDR 600,000 (≈ $35) at experienced riders: after the briefing you ride alone, at your own pace, within the designated operating area and following the safety procedures. The instructor format is aimed at beginners, with an instructor who guides and helps throughout the 15 minutes.
Children
Guests under 16 ride only with an instructor, and children are not allowed to drive unless they meet the operator’s requirements. Whether a child can ride at all depends on age, size and safety requirements, and the operator asks you to check the age limits in advance.
Weather and booking
Rides depend on the sea, the tides, the weather and availability. If the weather, waves, wind or sea are unsafe, the ride may be delayed, cancelled or rescheduled; the time slot is confirmed after booking, depending on sea conditions. The operator recommends booking in advance, especially in busy periods.

Five things to settle before paying
- The deposit and the cancellation terms: the operator publishes neither.
- On self-drive, what a repair would cost and how damage is assessed.
- The price of professional photos and videos, if you want them.
- How you get to Jl. Pratama: the jet ski page does not mention a transfer.
- For a child, the age and size the operator accepts on the instructor format.
The same street on the Tanjung Benoa peninsula also sells parasailing, priced per person for a round in the air; see the Bali parasailing page.
