The guides were extremely friendly, the instructions were clear, they took us to 4 dive sites around Nusa Penida. Good value for money. Would definitely take their service again. Everything that we thought was needed, was preemptively provided by them.
What is this tour like?
Manta Snorkeling Penida is a snorkelling operator based at Banjar Nyuh harbour on Nusa Penida. Its shared Manta Bay trip is a two-hour option for guests already on the island: meet at the office 15 minutes before the 9:30 am or 2:00 pm departure, and the boat reaches Manta Bay in about 25 minutes. The operator describes it as a sheltered corner of the north-west coast where reef mantas feed near the surface, so you float on top and watch them below; it is also the site that keeps running when the south coast is closed by swell. After the mantas, the captain picks 2 or 3 more stops among Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay and Wall Point depending on the current, and you are back 2 hours after leaving.
From the office the price is IDR 200,000 per person, including boat, guide, mask, snorkel, fins, life jacket, drinking water and the marine park fee. From mainland Bali there is a version at IDR 400,000 per person with the return fast boat: you meet the operator's boat partner at Sanur port at 7:30 am and pay the island entry fee yourself on arrival. Boats take up to 20 guests. The minimum age is given as 11+ in the trip header and as 10 in the booking terms, so check it for younger children.
