What is this tour like?
Dive Dominicana take Advanced Open Water divers to the St. George, a 260-foot cargo ship lying at 35–40 m off Bayahibe, and then to the Reef Park. $180 per diver, with full equipment and hotel transfers.
The centre is a PADI and IANTD technical diving operation, and its site list reads like one: reef and wreck dives, cave and cavern dives, and day trips out to the islands. The St. George sits close enough to Bayahibe to be a half-day outing rather than an expedition, but it is deep: the centre asks for Advanced Open Water because the wreck lies at 35–40 m.
The second dive is the Reef Park, which the centre describes as an underwater museum with the remains of colonial-era ships, coral-covered cannons and cannonballs, and stingrays. Snorkellers can come along for that part.
On the price: the wreck’s own page gives $180 per diver. The centre’s list of trips shows $180 next to $195 under a “$15 off” label, so $195 is the figure before the discount. Confirm the amount for your date when you book.
