What is this tour like?
Coral Point run a PADI shop on the beach at Bayahibe and keep groups to four or five divers per divemaster. A two-dive package is $80 per diver; the boat is back around 13:00.
The shop has been working for fourteen years and sits on the beach that overlooks the whole bay. Before departure the team gives a practical eco-briefing: local marine life, responsible diving and simple ways not to damage the reef. The day ends with a debrief back at the centre, where the gear is rinsed and the sightings are talked through.
The published price list is per diver and in US dollars: one dive $55, two $80, four $160, six $240, eight $310 and ten $365. Packages are flexible and can be split across several days, and the shop notes that prices may vary with sea conditions and the choice of site.
Rental gear is not in the $80: it costs $10 a day (the dive computer is not part of it), which is why the booking page shows a deposit of $80 without equipment and $90 with it. Guests staying in Dominicus or Bayahibe are picked up from the hotel free of charge. The same centre sells reef snorkelling at Bayahibe for $40.
