What is this tour like?
Blue Dreams run the introductory dive straight off the beach, walking into the water step by step, with no more than two students per instructor. $79 per person, from age 8.
The centre describes the entry carefully: because the dive starts from the beach at Bayahibe rather than a boat, you go in gradually, at your own pace and without pressure, and the instructor stays literally beside you the whole time. That is the point of the format — the first breaths underwater happen where you can still stand up.
What the price covers is listed in full: the SSI teaching materials, all the fees, the Try Scuba recognition card and the diploma. There is no separate equipment line.
If the first dive goes well, the same centre teaches onward: Basic Diver at $119 for up to two students, and Scuba Diver at $299 and Open Water Diver at $499 as private courses. The introductory dive is the cheapest way to find out whether any of that is for you.
