What is this tour like?
Two dives on Sail Rock with Simple Life Divers from Sairee, with a Thai lunch on board, for ฿2,900. The boat leaves at about 07:00 and is back on Koh Tao by mid-afternoon; certified divers only.
The school describes Sail Rock as sheer walls dropping from the surface to about 30 m onto a silty bottom, with a chasm you enter at about 16 m and leave at 6 m. Whale sharks pass through the Gulf and are seen filter-feeding around deep pinnacles like this one. The crossing from Koh Tao takes about 1.5 hours, up to 2 depending on the sea.
Open Water is enough; Advanced extends the planned depth to 30 m. The swim on to the Secret Pinnacle needs Deep certification. Sail Rock is not offered to snorkellers or for intro dives. If the sea is not right, the school proposes a local Koh Tao site or a full refund.
