I recently went on the Four Islands tour and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything was very well organised and the entire trip was smooth and enjoyable.
What is this tour like?
Phi Phi lies far enough from Krabi that the crossing itself shapes the day: on a speedboat the run takes well under an hour, which buys back the time a longtail spends underway. On this charter the boat belongs to your group for the whole trip, 09:00 to 16:00.
From Wangsai's private pier the boat runs to Phi Phi Leh, where a floating pier and a wooden walkway lead through to Maya Bay. Pileh Lagoon follows, water held between vertical cliffs, then snorkelling over the reef, the Viking Cave from the water and Monkey Beach with its macaques. Lunch is a buffet at a beachfront restaurant on Phi Phi Don, and the afternoon finishes on the white sand of Bamboo Island.
The price is set as a group booking, not per head: ฿22,000 (about $609) with one guest aboard, rising by ฿200 a head to ฿23,800 with ten. The national park fee — ฿400 per foreign adult, ฿200 per child — is collected separately.
