What is this tour like?
A 3.5-hour catamaran cruise along the Cabeza de Toro reserve with a snorkelling stop inside a 40,000 m² marine park, where sharks and stingrays are kept. $115 per adult, tax included.
The cruise starts with a briefing on the beach or in the Marinarium lounge, then explains the rules for the marine park before anyone gets in the water. After the snorkelling the group returns to the boat for sandwiches and drinks — alcohol is served only once the swimming is over, which the operator states plainly.
The bar carries rum, beer, vodka, sodas, citrus punch and water. Departures run twice a day: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m.
Transport is included from all resorts in Punta Cana. Guests staying in Bayahibe pay an extra $10 and those in La Romana $15, collected in cash on the bus. There is no age limit on this cruise, though children must be accompanied by an adult; at the operator's Reef Explorer and Happy Hour outings the minimum age is 13.
