Our experience was out of this world. Carlos the guide was friendly, funny and so knowledgeable. He’s been doing these tours for 45yrs! We had so much fun, felt safe (never driven a boat) and swimming with fishes, seeing the statues under water, well all I can say is WOW!! If you’re in Cancun you have to book a tour with Jungle tours. Also we paid for videos, pictures at a great price. I’m definitely coming back. Thank you Carlos!! See you soon.
What is this tour like?
Jungle Tour Adventure works from its own small marina on the lagoon side of the Hotel Zone, at Km 14.6, in the parking lot of Fred's House restaurant opposite the JW Marriott. After a briefing on the controls and hand signals, each pair takes a 13-foot two-seat speedboat and follows the guide in a line through the mangrove canals of the Nichupté lagoon, south to Punta Nizuc National Park. The ride out takes about 40 minutes; at the reef you tie up, put on mask and fins and snorkel for about 45 minutes with the guide, then drive back to the marina. The whole tour is two hours, with departures at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:00; check in 30 minutes earlier.
The price is per person: $45 each when two share a boat (the site shows it against $69), or $80 for a boat of your own. The shared option needs two people; a lone guest booked at the shared price with no one to pair with pays $35 more at check-in. On the day everyone pays a further $20 in cash for the use of the marine park and dock. The driver must be 18 or older and show a valid photo ID, and the booking card holder must present that card with matching ID at check-in. Children can ride from age 3; from 3 to 7 they need an adult who is not driving. The operator says the underwater sculptures of the MUSA gallery at Punta Nizuc are only for intermediate and advanced swimmers in good weather.

“AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! Would absolutely recommend. Carlos our tour guide is an absolute legend, so funny and put us all in a great mood for the tour. We saw lots of fish and a couple of statues underwater during our snorkelling adventure. They offered us a free short massage and a tequila tasting which was very delicious. Affordable and memorable.”
“It was ok. We didn't have really any instruction which I find unusual. If it is your first time snorkeling I would maybe try a different company don't come without experience. This was my fourth time and every other time there has been instruction. The reef was beautiful. My goggles came off of my head while I was in the water. This has never happened to me before so I was pretty surprised but they just kind of slipped off. We took our kids with us and they enjoyed it. There was another group and I don't know what happened but they didn't wind up snorkeling they just waited in the boats while we went which seemed odd. Maybe they got cold feet and honestly I wouldn't blame them because the way you have to jump off the speed boat not even my thrill seeking teen was too eager to do it. The tour guide seemed pretty impatient with them honestly. The speed boat ride was fun.”
“Very cool tour!! It was great fun driving the speedboat by ourselves in the convoy. We even saw a crocodile in the mangroves on our way to the snorkelling. We felt safe at all times. I'd also like to mention that, as Germans, we paid for our tour in advance by PayPal on the morning of the same day without any problem. Unfortunately we arrived at the wrong station. But that was no problem at all either: the kind Jungle Tours employee took us to the bus and sent us 10 minutes further on. Thanks for looking after us so well! Many thanks, Doreen and Olaf”
“All great. Extra cost of 20 USD for water protection is too high. But it's like that everywhere.”
