Morning Bottom Fishing from Caleta de Fuste on a 12-Metre Sportfisherman
Daily 09:00–13:00 out of Puerto Castillo on a Cata 356 Sportfisherman with a fighting chair, outriggers and radar: €79 per angler, €60 for a non-fishing companion, picnic and a drink included, tackle supplied, up to twelve on board.
Fuerteventura, Spain · 4h · up to 12 guests · €79 per person on the four-hour bottom-fishing morning: €79 an angler, €60 a spectator · ES · EN
The shared fishing trip was great — bottom fishing that kept you busy and two wahoo. The skipper worked the best drop-offs and whatever you needed the deckhand was right there, giving it everything. I recommend it.
What is this tour like?
Daily 09:00–13:00 out of Puerto Castillo on a Cata 356 Sportfisherman with a fighting chair, outriggers and radar: €79 per angler, €60 for a non-fishing companion, picnic and a drink included, tackle supplied, up to twelve on board.
The operator is a sport-fishing charter based in Puerto Castillo, in Caleta de Fuste on the east coast of Fuerteventura, and its boat is the reason to look at this trip: a Cata 356 Sportfisherman, 12.00 m long and 4.00 m in the beam, on two diesel engines, rebuilt throughout in 2011. She carries outriggers with separators, a fighting chair, a deep sounder, a GPS plotter, VHF and radar, with helm stations both in the saloon and on the fly bridge; below there is a large saloon with a table and armchairs, a full galley with a fridge and a sink, and a marine toilet.
The bottom-fishing trip is the one with a published price, and it runs every day from 09:00 to 13:00. It costs €79 for an angler and €60 for a spectator — the operator prints both lines, which is unusual and useful if one of you is on board to watch rather than to fish. A free picnic and one drink are included, and fishing equipment is supplied. The listed capacity is twelve.
The operator's own account of the fishing off Fuerteventura names blue marlin, white marlin, tuna, dorado, wahoo, bonito, amberjack, red snapper, common seabream and groupers, and calls the island one of the best fishing zones in the Canaries. The trolling and big-game trip and the jigging trip are quoted on request rather than published; whale and dolphin watching is a separate outing at €49 an adult. Booking is by the form on the operator's site, by phone or by email to the charter's reservations address.

- Four hours in the morning, every day, from 09:00 to 13:00 — no need to build a day around it

What do guests say?
“The shared fishing trip was great — bottom fishing that kept you busy and two wahoo. The skipper worked the best drop-offs and whatever you needed the deckhand was right there, giving it everything. I recommend it.”
“I went out fishing with Tini on two days and enjoyed it a lot. We had some good catches and spent good mornings out. A special mention for the surprise of the Canarian jack. Thank you, Tini and Cris.”
“We booked the "Pesca de Fondo en Caleta de Fuste" fishing tour for 2 adults and 2 children, and unfortunately it turned into a very traumatic and extremely unpleasant experience for our whole family. This tour is absolutely not suitable for children or for beginners who have never experienced deep-sea fishing before. During the trip, my husband, my older son, and I suffered from severe seasickness and spent around 3 out of the 4 hours vomiting continuously. The worst part is that the captain told us there was no seasickness medication available on board. When we booked the tour, nobody warned us about the high risk of seasickness or advised us to bring tablets ourselves. Additionally, during the fishing itself, the captain did not explain how to properly use the fishing rods or how to fish.”
