What is this tour like?

An eight-hour day in Phang Nga Bay run as a small group. The boat leaves Boat Lagoon Marina early, before the big ferries reach the bay.

You paddle into the sea caves of Koh Panak and Koh Hong — a Thai guide handles every canoe, so no experience is needed. Then the karst of James Bond Island itself, a swim at Treasure Island Beach, and lunch on Koh Yao Noi looking out over the archipelago. Torches and helmets for the caves, dry bags for your things, and afternoon tea on the way back are part of the day.

What are the highlights?

  • Kayaking inside the sea caves of Koh Panak and Koh Hong
  • A Thai paddle guide in every canoe — you are not left to figure it out
  • Maximum eighteen guests, not a hundred-seat ferry
  • Lunch on Koh Yao Noi with a view over the archipelago

FAQ

Will the boat run if we are only two?
The trip needs six guests to sail. Two people can join any date where a group has already formed — write to us and we will tell you which dates are confirmed.
How is this different from the cheap big-boat tours?
Group size and timing. This boat takes eighteen guests and leaves early, before the ferries arrive. Big-boat tours to the same bay start around 1,600 THB and carry far more people.
Do we paddle the kayaks ourselves?
No. A Thai guide paddles each canoe through the caves, which is why the trip works for people who have never kayaked.
Is the price per person or per boat?
Per person. Private charters of the same bay are also available from the operator at a separate rate.
What time does it finish?
The day runs seven to eight hours on the water from a 07:00–07:15 departure, so you are back in the afternoon.
