MUSAN Try Scuba: Green Bay Training Dive plus the Sculpture Museum — Easy Divers
The way to reach the MUSAN underwater museum without a diving certificate: a training dive at Green Bay in the morning, then the museum off Ayia Napa on the same day, 150 € per person, minimum two people. Photos are free, and VAT, transfers from local accommodation, tanks and weights are all in the price. Certified divers do not need this package and dive the museum directly.
Ayia Napa & Protaras, Cyprus · 6h · €150 per person for the two-dive MUSAN try-scuba day, minimum two people · EN
Wow what an experience. My wife booked the Musan Scuba Diver for me whilst we were in Cyprus on holiday. Booked online ahead of my visit and super easy to do; any questions, the team responded super fast. Greg and Dave were awesome instructors — I was nervous ahead of diving but felt super confident once the guys had talked me through everything. The first dive was at Green Bay and this got me used to being underwater; the dive there was about 45 minutes, back to the dive centre for a break before heading to location 2, Musan in Ayia Napa, a 20-minute drive. This location was deeper and had many more statues to see, and the second dive was awesome.
What is this tour like?
MUSAN — the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa — has a rule that catches out a lot of holidaymakers: to scuba dive at the museum itself you have to be a certified diver. Easy Divers' answer is this package, and it is the honest way round the rule rather than a loophole. You do a full Discover Scuba Diving at Green Bay first, learn the gear and get comfortable in shallow water, and only then move to the museum for the second dive of the day. 150 € per person, minimum two people.
The first half is the centre's standard try dive: three hours, six to ten metres, about an hour underwater in the shallow, calm bay at Protaras. The second is a twenty-minute drive to the Ayia Napa coast, where the sculptures stand 200 metres from shore at up to ten metres depth. The museum publishes 93 works by the British eco-sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, some shaped as trees, some figurative, made from pH-neutral material and intended to function as an artificial reef. The site is a marine protected area, and the operator's list of what has moved in is worth reading: parrot fish, wrasse, trigger fish, cardinal fish, sea bream and starfish, plus turtles, octopus, squid and stingrays.
What you pay for is unusually well specified. The price list header covers VAT and local taxes, transfers from local accommodation, and tanks and weights; full equipment means BCD, regulator, wetsuit, boots, fins and mask. Photos are free on this line — the list says so in capitals. Guests staying in Ayia Napa rather than Protaras add 5 € per person for the pick-up, which is a small irony given that the museum is off Ayia Napa itself. There is currently no government ticket for entering the water at MUSAN, and the operator states that the booking fee covers the guide, the equipment, tank refills and transport.
Two practical constraints. The package needs at least two people, so a solo traveller should ask the centre what it can arrange. And the centre recommends booking three to five days ahead — more in summer — both because of museum regulations and because it runs small groups.
If you already hold a certification, you do not need any of this: certified divers from Open Water upwards dive MUSAN directly, and the centre prices its ordinary local shore dives at 75 € for one and 110 € for two.
What are the highlights?

- VAT, transfers, tanks and weights are in the price by the list's own header
- A marine protected area — turtles, octopus, squid and stingrays are on the operator's list of what settles among the statues
