This was absolutely amazing. All the staff were so friendly; the food was delicious and the cocktails were great. We loved the swimming stops and my seven-year-old loved swimming with the turtles. As a mum I can honestly say it was an ideal trip to take with a seven-year-old and we felt very safe the whole time. Life jackets were offered to children and adults for the swim stops and there was plenty of shade and air conditioning.
What is this tour like?
Four hours from Ayia Napa harbour at 10:30 along the monk seal caves, Cape Greco and the lighthouse, with two swimming stops — the Blue Lagoon and Konnos Bay. A guide, a food buffet, snorkelling gear and life jackets are in the ticket; a separate VIP deck adds a jacuzzi, sun loungers and waiter service. From €50 per person.
The Ocean Queen is the four-deck boat in Ayia Napa harbour, and it is sold on comfort rather than on a theme. There is an air-conditioned indoor saloon and seating both inside and out, fresh-water showers, toilets and changing rooms, fully equipped bars, disabled access and accessible WCs.
The route is set out by name: out of the harbour past the Ayia Napa monk seal caves and the Love Bridge, Kermia beach, the Palace Caves, Cape Greco, Queen's Bay and the Ayia Napa lighthouse to the Blue Lagoon for the first swimming stop, then the Love Bridge again, the Syrian Cave and the Mother of Jesus cave, the cave church of St Anargiri, and a second stop in Konnos Bay before the Protaras coastline and the Golden Coast. The operator adds that the itinerary is subject to weather.
The standard ticket covers both lower decks, the tour guide, the food buffet, life jackets for adults and children, snorkelling equipment and the swimming stops. The VIP ticket, sold separately, opens the top deck: sun loungers, all-deck access, priority at the buffet, a fruit platter, jacuzzi access and waiter service. The operator gives two different capacities for that deck on the same page — twelve in the specification list, twenty in the description — so if the VIP deck is the reason you are booking, ask which is right.
Drinks are not included and no food or drink may be brought aboard. The crew states that it speaks English, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, French and Arabic. Check-in is fifteen minutes before departure, and the operator advises arriving thirty minutes ahead. Once tickets are bought there are no refunds, including for a no-show; if the operator cancels for weather or force majeure you are refunded in full or rescheduled.
One caution from guests rather than the operator: alongside a long run of five-star reviews there is a two-star account of the boat being overloaded — elbow to elbow, lunch eaten off the knees because the tables were occupied as seats, and a small, chaotic entry point to the water at the swim stop. High season and a full boat are worth planning around.

“The boat is overloaded and clearly not set up for that many passengers; you sit knocking elbows with the other guests. At lunch you end up eating off your knees, because even the tables meant for eating are taken by guests as permanent seats. The entry point to the water at the swimming stop is very small, and while people are swimming it is complete chaos, which the staff do nothing to control.”
“We were already on the four-hour boat trip with lunch and two swimming stops last year. We liked it so much that we had to repeat it this year, and we were rewarded. A thoroughly relaxed atmosphere. Not too full, and you can easily get a place in the shade. The staff are very friendly. Drink prices entirely reasonable. Lunch very tasty. Both swimming stops long enough to explore everything.”
“The highlight of our Cyprus holiday. We recommend the VIP package — it is worth the money. Tanja's warm attention to everything, towels, comfortable loungers, a fruit platter and the fine lunch: simply great. Anyone who does not want to swim at the swim stops can cool off in the whirlpool. An unforgettable trip from A to Z.”
