Cancún, Mexico · 6h · $220 per diver, two tanks
Really good diving experience. From the start Manta Dive was informative and made whole experience easy. We did the wreck dive near Puerto Morelos which was amazing. Saw rays, stingreys nurse sharks, turtles and plenty of fish and barracudas. Guillermo and Gabriel were great. Would definitely recommend diving with them and when diving near cancun will not look for any other spot.
What is this tour like?
Puerto Morelos, a fishing village just south of Cancún, guards one of the best-protected stretches of the Mesoamerican Reef inside a national marine park. Manta Dive & Snorkel checks you in at its Cancún shop at 8:30, drives you down and has you back by 14:30. The two dives are at 30 to 60 feet with visibility often above 80 feet and little current; the operator lists turtles, moray eels and stingrays among the reef life.
The trip is for certified divers and, by the operator's own description, its gentlest conditions — a good choice after a break or soon after certification. Between and after the dives you stay at Manta's own beachfront restaurant; lunch there is not in the price.

“We had such a great experience with Manta Divers! We aren't very experienced divers and the pros here were so helpful and patient. They selected all our equipment and did all the heavy lifting. We were able to enjoy the boat ride and jump in the water when it was time. Danny held my hand the whole way down until I was comfortable on my own. They picked out 2 great diving locations for us and even took some pictures. We felt very safe the entire trip.”
