Cancún, Mexico · $145 per person, two open-water dives with an instructor
We had an absolutely fantastic time on our first dive ever thanks to Fabio and Gaby. Fabio did an amazing job of providing thorough information to help us feel comfortable and confident as we set out to cross an item of our bucket list. Once we were in the ocean he guided us through the dive and helped us see so many cool things. He also did a fantastic job documenting everything with his go pro that was worth every penny and then some. If you've always wanted to try scuba diving and you're in the area … I highly recommend these guys 10/10 operators. Thanks again Fabio and Gaby, we're both hooked now 😅🙏
What is this tour like?
Scuba Total runs its Discover Scuba Diving from the Hotel Zone at Km 16.2, on the lagoon. The day starts with theory — the principles, safety procedures and equipment — under an umbrella or a palapa at the end of the pier, then confined-water practice in the pool or, if the weather allows, in a calm shallow area. After that come two open-water dives with your instructor, one of them at MUSA.
It costs $145 and is open from age 10; everyone fills in a short medical questionnaire beforehand. The operator does not publish how long the day takes or exactly what is included, so ask about gear, transport and the dive times when you book.

“I was looking for a dive shop during our vacation in Cancun. I ran across Scuba Total and what a blessing it was. The staff were amazing and Gaby made all the planning so easy. I had 3 different instructors during the 6 dives I did and they all were great. Lars was my refresher instructor since I haven't dove in a couple years the training was great and the dives were easy and amazing. The next couple dives were reef dives and my instructor was Fabio and he was knowledgeable and the dives were great. The last couple dives were Cenote dives and those were amazing the instructor was Rafa and he was so knowledgeable with history and diving I felt very at ease. The dives were great I could not have asked for a better company. Also I don't want to leave out Aldo he was so helpful all the way thru the process. I got to see sea Turtles, Nurse Sharks, Squid, and many fish. This company does not disappoint. They were very friendly and very professional.”
