Guided Shore Dives on the East Coast — El Jablito, Archies Bay, Las Salinas (Abyss Fuerteventura)
Year-round shore diving from Corralejo with a small owner-run centre. 55 € buys one dive with all equipment, transport to the site and a guide; four dives are 180 € and six are 250 €. Three sites, from a thirteen-metre harbour that works all year to a thirty-metre reef for advanced divers. Insurance is a separate line.
Fuerteventura, Spain · €55 per 1 shore dive with all equipment, transport to the site and a guide — the table does not say if per diver · EN
My husband and I had two great dives with Hannah at El Jablito in April. Cold waters of 18 degrees, but we were provided with all of the necessary equipment to keep nice and warm during our dives. It was fantastic to be in such a small group — just the three of us — and we enjoyed refreshing our skills underwater. Great visibility and saw lots of new fish too!
What is this tour like?
Abyss is a small centre on Calle Gravina in Corralejo, run by Simon and Hannah Mackay, and its diving is a different proposition from the boat operations elsewhere on the island. All three of its published sites are coast entries on the east side of Fuerteventura, so a day does not depend on a departure time or on the sea state in a strait.
The sites are graded, and the centre grades them itself. El Jablito, an old fishing village with a half-built harbour now full of marine life, tops out at thirteen metres and is described as good conditions all year — the centre calls it perfect both for first-time splashers and for seasoned divers. Archies Bay, sixteen metres, is a small bay in a camper-van zone that fishermen favour for its fish, with big overhangs and caverns; the centre notes good conditions only at certain times of year. Las Salinas, at the salt museum, drops to thirty metres over reef and is marked advanced — it can be done from the coast or from a boat.
Each dive lasts between forty-five and sixty minutes depending on your air consumption. Included in the price: all necessary dive equipment, transport to the dive site and a guide. That last pair matters here, because shore diving elsewhere often means finding your own way to a car park with a tank in the boot.
The price ladder is straightforward: one dive 55 €, two 90 €, four 180 €, six 250 €, and the price table's equipment column says yes on every line. Insurance is separate — 9 € for a day, up to 43 € for a year. Extras are cheap and specific: a torch or a dive computer at 5 € a day, an SMB and cutter at 2 €, a GoPro at 30 €. A night dive is the dive price plus ten euros.
One honest caveat about language. The centre's material is in English, and two Spanish reviewers have complained, in 2016 and 2021, that they could not be served in Spanish. If Spanish or another language is a requirement for you, settle it before you book.

“Had an amazing day diving with Abyss! They were able to accommodate two try dives for my friend, and I tagged along as open water certified. Hannah was an absolute dream to spend time with — she made us feel very calm, safe and prepared! And tons of laughs! Simon and Hannah were both super on top of communication and booking as well.”
“Excellent experience. I booked to do two dives and they were incredible; the staff extremely professional, the facilities first class, the rental equipment of very good quality. I will certainly repeat in the future.”
“If you do not know or do not want to speak English, do not even go near this centre. There are far better ones both in Corralejo and in Caleta de Fuste. I will not be back here.”
