Guided Walk-In Dives from Costa Calma — Angel Sharks at La Lajita (Dive Pro Fuerte)
Six days a week from a centre inside a Costa Calma hotel, with hotel pick-up and drop-off free. 45 € a dive, plus 5 € insurance and equipment hire if you need it, which the centre gives as 10 € in its price line and 5 € a day in its text — 55–60 € all in. Shallow walk-in dives at La Lajita where angel sharks are regular from November to March, and deeper sites at the Morro Jable lighthouse for advanced divers.

We had two dives with the instructors Adam and JB from Dive Pro and we were absolutely amazed by the nature on the one hand and the incredibly nice, professional and friendly instructors. You really get a feel for instructors who love showing tourists their home and nature and take care of it, either by feeding and looking after strays on the island or collecting rubbish and plastics while diving, which we both witnessed firsthand. The dive centre is on the ground floor of a big hotel and the dive sites were at most a ten-minute ride from the meeting point, both walk-in dives, so no noisy boats and loading on and off.
What is this tour like?
Dive Pro Fuerte works out of the ground floor of a hotel in Costa Calma, on the long south-west stretch of the island, and its diving is done from the shore. That shapes the day more than anything else: no departure slot, no queue at a quay, and — as one 2026 reviewer put it — no noisy boats to load and unload. The dive sites are at most a ten-minute drive from the meeting point, and the transfer from and to your hotel is free.
The centre dives six days a week. Certified divers go to La Lajita, at El Puertito beach, where there are two dive locations. The centre calls this the shallower side of its programme and then argues against its own understatement: both spots are teeming with life, large stingrays are ordinary, turtles have turned up more than once, and the rare angel shark is seen regularly — the centre names November to March as the months for it. That window matters, because the angelote is why a good number of divers come to Fuerteventura at all in winter.
For Advanced Open Water divers the centre also runs deeper dives at the lighthouse in Morro Jable, on Veril Grande and Veril Chico, where it says you should meet its resident groupers. And for the adventurous there is night diving, which the centre sells on one image: the bioluminescence of the ocean glowing in front of you.
The money is simple once you read the whole line. The dive is 45 €; insurance, compulsory under Spanish diving law, is 5 €; equipment hire, if you have not brought your own, is 10 €. Sixty euros covers a diver who arrives with nothing but a swimsuit. One inconsistency to raise when you book: the body text on the same page prices full equipment hire at five euros a day, not ten.
Reviewers describe long dives — one names forty-nine minutes without surfacing — instructors adapting to the diver's pace, and photos and video taken for guests. They also, more than once, mention the crew collecting rubbish and plastic while diving.

“We had an incredible scuba diving experience today, and I can't recommend it enough! Huge thanks to Benedikt for being such an amazing instructor — his calm and clear guidance made us feel completely safe and confident throughout. We were underwater for an incredible forty-nine minutes without surfacing once! We saw a massive stingray, barracuda, spider crabs, sea slugs, and large schools of vibrant, colourful fish.”
“It was just great! Professional divers that truly care about the sea and about educating their clients. I did the PADI Open Water certification and JB, my teacher, adapted the exercises to my progress every time. He made me feel safe during all five dives, he showed me so much — stingrays, starfish, angel sharks, sea horses — and he was always there to answer my questions.”
