I highly recommend here. I had my first ever scuba dive here with my two teenagers who had dived once before. Great communication from the beginning. We were picked up from our hotel and brought to the centre to have the tutorial and collect the gear already prepared for us. I was so nervous, I'm not a strong swimmer, but Jibi was fantastic and reassured me everything would be ok. When I tried to help the kids with their suits he told me he is the parent for today and not to worry, he had it all covered — I only needed to worry about myself! Jibi guided me every step of the way. We saw lots of underwater creatures and I was amazed at how close they came. Jibi took photos and videos for our memories.
What is this tour like?
Dive Pro Fuerte pitches this at exactly the person it names: never dived, always wanted to, not certified and hasn't the time. The programme is a first scuba dive in one half day, and everything about the way the centre runs it is built for a holiday schedule rather than a diving trip.
The day begins at the dive centre, on the ground floor of a hotel in Costa Calma, with a registration form and the instructors explaining how diving works. Then to the dive site — a short drive; the centre's dives are walk-in entries rather than boat trips, which is why the whole thing fits in a morning or an afternoon. Maximum depth is twelve metres, the legal limit for a first dive in Spain.
On timing, the centre is careful in a way worth quoting: “as with all our courses, our instructors will go at your pace”. The excursion typically lasts half a day, with approximately thirty to forty minutes underwater. Nobody is on a stopwatch.
Requirements are two lines long — ten years and over, and in good health. No certification, no swimming test published.
The transfer from and to your hotel is free, and that is stated on the price line rather than buried, which matters in Costa Calma where the resorts are spread along several kilometres of coast. What the page does not do is itemise the rest: unlike the centre's guided-dive product, which spells out 45 € plus 5 € insurance plus 10 € equipment, the DSD line is a flat 85 € with nothing added or excluded in print. Ask about insurance and equipment when you book, because Spanish rules require cover for anyone diving recreationally.
If the dive works out and you want the licence, the same centre runs the Open Water Diver at 450 €, to a maximum of eighteen metres, from age ten.

“We had an incredible scuba diving experience today, and I can't recommend it enough! Huge thanks to Benedikt for being such an amazing instructor — his calm and clear guidance made us feel completely safe and confident throughout. The gear felt heavy at first, but once we got the hang of it, it was absolutely thrilling. We saw a massive stingray, barracuda, spider crabs, sea slugs, and large schools of vibrant, colourful fish.”
“A unique experience. The explanation was excellent, they take you to a beautiful spot and the guide is the best in the world — Jibi, an incredible guy, you will laugh with him for sure. Highly recommended!”
