The cruise on the ocean off Fuerteventura was an absolutely wonderful experience. Everything was organised perfectly — delicious food, breathtaking views and a lovely atmosphere on board. A huge round of applause for the team working on the boat, and especially for Karolina and Nacho, who were extremely kind, always smiling and always ready to help. Thanks to them we felt very comfortable and looked after. It was an unforgettable time and I recommend this company to everyone with all my heart.
What is this tour like?
A 19.70-metre Turkish gulet sails out of Morro Jable for the sunset over the Jandía peninsula, with a DJ playing chill-out on deck, an Oriental-inspired tasting menu and an open bar of wine, beer and soft drinks. Three hours, €89 per person, strictly eighteen and over.
The Aphrodite is a Turkish gulet — a traditional wooden schooner, 19.70 metres long with a 6.80-metre beam — and in the evening she runs a different trip from her daytime cruise. Magic & Sailing sells this one on atmosphere rather than mileage: a wide, uncluttered deck, a curated chill soundtrack with the DJ actually on board, and three hours that end with the sun going down behind the Morro Jable lighthouse in front of the Jandía peninsula.
The food is a cocktail-style tasting rather than a sit-down meal, and it leans east: vegetable maki-sushi with wakame and shichimi mayonnaise, creamy hummus with smoked pimentón oil and pickles, and butter chicken on naan with a Greek yoghurt sauce. The vegetarian alternative is a Mozarabic vegetable burger with Zahara-style infused rice. Chilled cava, white and rosé wine, beer, soft drinks and water are open across the trip. Allergies need 48 hours' notice.
Swimming is possible if the sea allows, but it is a maybe rather than a plan — this is a trip built around the light and the deck. The operator's own advice is to bring a light jacket, because the evening at sea is cooler than the beach was an hour earlier, and a charged phone or camera, because this is the part of the day the coast looks best.
One rule decides whether this is your trip: the excursion is exclusive to guests aged eighteen and over. Families are pointed instead at the same operator's daytime catamarans. A place costs €89, and transport from selected points is included where it is available.
What are the highlights?
- A 19.70-metre Turkish gulet — a wooden schooner rather than a modern catamaran
- A live DJ on board playing a chill-out set while the light goes
- Sunset over the Jandía peninsula, seen from the water with a clear horizon
- An eighteen-and-over rule that keeps the boat adult for the whole three hours
