What is this tour like?
A twenty-minute crossing from Corralejo to the Lobos islet on FuerteCharter's electric catamaran, with six departures a day and an open return, so the island itself is yours to walk at your own pace. €17 per adult and €11 per child aged 4 to 11, one free drink on board.
This is transport rather than an excursion, and the operator sells it as such: "ECO FuerteCharter redefines the concept of transport with its ferry service to Isla de Lobos." What you buy is a return ticket across El Río, the strait between Fuerteventura and the islet, and the freedom to spend as much or as little of the day on Lobos as you like. Once ashore you can explore the trails at your leisure and reach the spots the operator names: El Puertito, Playa de La Concha, the La Caldera volcano and the Martiño lighthouse.
The boat is a modern catamaran the operator calls 100% eco-friendly, and it is specific about what that means: cleaner propulsion, lower emissions, responsible waste handling, less underwater noise for marine wildlife, and materials chosen to keep the footprint small. In a natural park that argument carries more weight than usual.
On board there is an upper outdoor deck for the crossing, a bar area, three large screens, and one free drink — water or a soft drink — included in the fare. A bicycle can be carried for €5.
Departures from Corralejo run at 9:30, 10:45, 12:00, 13:15, 15:45 and 17:00; the return ferry from Lobos runs at 10:00, 11:15, 12:30, 15:15, 16:15 and 17:30. Check-in is at the FuerteCharter office and boarding closes five minutes before departure; to change a departure or return time you have to call the office and check availability.
The permit matters here. Isla de Lobos is a natural park with a capped, named, free authorisation, and FuerteCharter builds that into its booking form: you either let the operator file the access requests with your reservation — it says the handling is included at no additional cost, and asks for each adult's name, surname, country and ID number — or you declare that you already hold them or will apply yourself, in which case the form tells you to request the permit at lobospass.com.
