Punta Cana, Dominican Republic · 3h · $299 per three-hour package or private lesson
What is this tour like?
Three hours of kitesurfing, as a package or a private lesson, with IKO certification from Level 1A upwards. $299, from age 8; no wind means the lesson is moved or the deposit refunded in full.
The location matters more than it looks. Kiting is banned at Los Corales and across part of Bávaro, and the school works a marked-off zone at Pearl Beach Club — which is why booking with a centre here is not interchangeable with finding someone with a kite on the beach.
Teaching runs on the IKO ladder from Kiteboarder Level 1A to advanced, so what you do in three hours depends on where you start. Minimum age is 8.
The wind policy is simple: if there is no wind the lesson is moved, and if it cannot be moved the deposit is returned in full. Riders with IKO Level 4 or equivalent can rent a kite for $120 per session of up to three hours, or a wingfoil set for $150; lessons by the hour are US$110 per person.
