A Pattaya day on the water is built around two clock readings: the morning departures leave between 08:00 and 09:00, and at 17:00 the sunset catamaran casts off from Bali Hai Pier. What sits between them is a window for something short. Below: which outings connect in time, what each pairing costs and where the chain breaks.
How many outings fit into one day?
Three, and not always three. A morning outing takes anywhere from 3.5 to 8 hours, the midday window is an hour or two, and the evening belongs to the catamaran: boarding at 17:00, back alongside at 20:00. A fourth outing has nowhere left to go.
This is not about stamina. The morning formats here are long — most of them eat half the daylight and put you back on shore at lunchtime or later. There are several short formats in Pattaya, and almost all of them are sold by the hour or by the slot rather than as a programme.
After that it is geography, not the timetable, that decides. Pattaya's departures are spread across four points:
- Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya — the Koh Larn speedboat, the snorkelling boat, the fishing charter and the sunset catamaran all leave from here, and parasailing picks up on Beach Road nearby.
- Na Jomtien, south of town — Ocean Marina Yacht Club with its private charters and its day catamaran, Blue Lagoon, where kitesurfing and wing-foiling are taught, and the Na Jomtien beach clubs with SUP boards and windsurf gear.
- Pattaya and Jomtien themselves — the TSA jet ski base, the Mermaids, Pattaya Dive Centre and Real Divers dive centres, and the Lakeland and Thai Wake Park cable parks on their lakes.
- Koh Larn — you have to cross to the island first: paragliding launches from the ridge above Samae Beach, and the crossing is not part of the flight price.
Pairing two outings from the same point costs almost no time. Pairing across two points means a drive, and it is better to ask the operator how long that drive is when you book than to guess at it.
The morning: what leaves between eight and nine
08:00 — a day of diving
Diving with Mermaids Dive Center costs ฿3,800 (≈ $105) per person and takes the whole day: the meet is at 08:00 for briefing and kit fitting, the first dive at about 10:00 on a near-island reef, lunch on board during the surface interval, the second at about 13:00 over reef or a wreck, and the boat is back at the pier at 15:00. Groups run to eight guests, full scuba equipment included. The try-dive needs no certification; if you hold a card, bring it.
Three more boats leave the same morning. The Pattaya Dive Centre trip into the Samae San marine park meets on Beach Road at 08:15 for two dives on the Hardeep wreck and at Shark Fin Rock, ฿2,900 (≈ $80) with your own kit. The Real Divers speedboat off Jomtien beach meets at 08:45, boards at 09:15 and is twelve minutes from the near islands, ฿2,700 (≈ $75) for two dives. And the Thai Ocean Academy dive boat from Bali Hai takes snorkellers too: away at 08:00, two sites, a hot lunch, ฿1,200 (≈ $33) per person.
08:30 — the speedboat to Koh Larn
The Coral Island tour boards at 08:30 at Manta Marina by Bali Hai Pier and brings you back to the same place around 14:30 — six hours at ฿1,200 (≈ $33) per person, in a group of up to twelve. Snorkel gear, a Thai lunch, life jackets and a guide are included; the national park fee and the watersports on the island are paid separately. The same island day at a slower pace is the 73-foot Serenity catamaran: 09:30 to 16:30 out of Ocean Marina, ฿2,700 (≈ $75) per person in low season, up to 45 guests, with hotel pick-up inside Pattaya and a Thai buffet in the price.
09:00 — jet skis
Two tours from the same TSA base, both leaving at 09:00. Six Islands is ฿5,900 (≈ $163) per jet ski for 3.5 hours, with a snorkel stop over the shallow reef at 10:00 and a return at 12:30. Nine Islands is ฿7,900 (≈ $219) per jet ski for five hours, with a lunch break on a quiet island at about 11:30. The difference between them is that lunch and an extra hour and a half of running time.
The price here is per machine, not per head: up to two people on a jet ski, so a group of four needs two machines — ฿11,800 (≈ $327) for the short tour and ฿15,800 (≈ $438) for the long one. One person drives, but you can swap during the day. Children ride as passengers from five years old with an adult at the controls; no licence or experience is needed, and a guide rides the route alongside you and sets the pace.
What do you do with the midday window?
After a morning outing there is not much left before 17:00, and short formats are what fit into it. Each of them also works as a day of its own, if you decided to sleep through the morning.
An hour on the cable
The Lakeland cable wake park is ฿900 (≈ $25) a session, typically an hour, with up to ten guests on the water at once. Board, vest and helmet are in the price, and so is coaching for a first attempt; half-day and day passes exist too. You ride a lake rather than the gulf, so swell and current are not part of the equation. It is a format for teenagers and adults: basic swimming ability and average fitness are what it asks for.
There are two cables outside Pattaya. Thai Wake Park, ten minutes from the centre, sells time rather than laps: the slow-speed morning session is ฿450 (≈ $12), two hours ฿695, four hours ฿895, the whole day ฿1,095; a wristband at ฿80 and a helmet at ฿60 a day sit on top of the ticket. Beside the full-size cable there is a Cable 2.0 for first laps.
Two hours on the wind
A kitesurf or wing-foil lesson at Blue Lagoon is ฿3,500 (≈ $97) per person for two hours: theory and safety first, then kite or wing control on the water, first water starts and a debrief at the end. Groups run to four, a private session is possible, the instructor is IKO-certified and a radio helmet keeps you in contact throughout. For two people that is ฿7,000 (≈ $194). The main wind season runs November to March, and the same price covers kitesurf, wing-foil or e-foil.
Cheaper and shorter sits on Na Jomtien: at Clubloongchat an hour of windsurfing is ฿900 (≈ $25), wing-foil from ฿1,200 an hour and kite from ฿1,700, taught one to one, while anyone who already rides can just rent a board from ฿500 an hour. On the same beach Amara Watersports rents a SUP board at ฿300 (≈ $8) an hour: in the mornings this corner of the bay is almost always flat.
Four hours on your own deck
A yacht charter from Ocean Marina costs ฿25,000 (≈ $692) for the whole boat, up to ten guests: four hours with a skipper, out towards Koh Larn and Koh Sak, anchored in a calm bay to swim and snorkel, then back to the same berth. Catering and watersports toys are add-ons, and marina and park fees are paid separately. On a full boat that works out at ฿2,500 (≈ $69) each.
Ocean Marina is not the only hull you can take whole. The 41-foot Sea Lord is ฿19,000 (≈ $526) for the four-hour morning block and takes up to twelve guests; the Lagoon 440 sailing catamaran Marry Merry is ฿39,000 (≈ $1,080) for four hours and up to twenty. On both Pattaya Yacht Charters boats, 7% VAT and a ฿200 per-person guest pass sit on top of the boat price.
Why does sunset go last?
The sunset cruise on a sailing catamaran boards at 17:00 at Bali Hai and docks at 20:00. Three hours, ฿2,500 (≈ $69) per person, up to thirty guests on board, a shaded deck and sun-nets on the bow — people spread out across the boat instead of sitting in rows.
There is a stop inside the cruise: at about 17:40 the catamaran anchors in an island bay, snorkel gear is included, and only after that does the sailing leg begin, with the sun going down from roughly 19:00. Soft drinks and light bites are in the price; alcohol where it is offered, transfers and gratuities are not.
Bring swimwear, a towel and a light layer: it freshens up on the water towards the end of the cruise, and you dock in the dark. No sailing experience is asked of you — the skipper and crew handle the boat.
It goes last for two reasons. It starts in the evening, when everything else has finished, and it returns to the same pier the morning speedboat dropped you at around 14:30.
The evening can also be taken whole: the private sunset run on the Serenity catamaran leaves Ocean Marina from 17:00 to 19:00 and costs ฿35,000 (≈ $970) per boat in low season, priced for 25 guests.
Four ready-made days
Every line below is assembled from the outings' own departure times. The total column carries the operator's price with the operator's unit applied, and nothing on top of it.

Two pairings do not assemble. Nine Islands runs five hours from 09:00, and what is left before 17:00 fits an hour on the cable and little else. And a lesson at Blue Lagoon and a boarding at Bali Hai sit at opposite ends of the coast: if you want both in one day, ask the operator about the drive between them before you pay for the second booking.
What does a day come to for two, and for a group?
The answer turns on the price unit rather than on how expensive an outing looks. There are five units here.
- Per person — parasailing ฿800 (≈ $22), Koh Larn and the snorkelling boat at ฿1,200 (≈ $33) each, catamaran ฿2,500 (≈ $69), kite lesson ฿3,500 (≈ $97), diving ฿3,800 (≈ $105). The total grows with every guest.
- Per jet ski — ฿5,900 (≈ $163) and ฿7,900 (≈ $219), up to two people per machine. A couple pays what a solo rider pays.
- Per boat — the yacht at ฿25,000 (≈ $692) for up to ten guests, the fishing charter at ฿15,000 (≈ $415) for up to eight. The price does not move with the number of people.
- Per session — the wake park at ฿900 (≈ $25), with up to ten guests riding at once.
- Per hour — a SUP board at ฿300 (≈ $8), an hour of windsurfing at ฿900 (≈ $25). You pay for time rather than for a programme, and you can stop after the first hour.
Which gives you the rule. For two, anything priced per boat or per machine pays off: Six Islands for a couple is ฿2,950 (≈ $82) each instead of ฿5,900 (≈ $163). For a group of eight the fishing charter comes to ฿1,875 (≈ $52) each at ฿15,000 (≈ $415) for the boat, and the yacht for ten works out at ฿2,500 (≈ $69). Fishing, unlike the rest, has a peak of its own: October to March.
What is not included in the price?
The gap between the price you see and the sum you hand over on the day is made of small items — and most of them repeat from outing to outing. Hotel transfers are charged separately almost everywhere: on Koh Larn, on the fishing charter, on the catamaran, on both jet ski tours, at the wake park and at the kite lesson. Then, outing by outing:
- Koh Larn — the national park fee and the watersports on the island; the Thai lunch, snorkel gear, life jackets and guide are already in.
- Jet skis — lunch and island fees; the guide on the water, fuel, life jacket and snorkel mask are included.
- The yacht — catering, watersports toys, marina and park fees; skipper, fuel, water, ice and snorkel gear are included.
- Fishing — food and gratuities; the boat, captain and deckhand, all rods, tackle and bait, water and soft drinks are included.
- The catamaran — alcohol and gratuities; soft drinks, light bites and snorkel gear are included.
- Diving — underwater photos, gratuities and the course fee if you decide to carry on training; instructor, full gear, boat and lunch are included.
- The wake park — photos, video and a wetsuit; board, vest, helmet and beginner coaching are included.
- The kite lesson — a rash vest, seasonally; instructor, kite or wing, board, harness, radio helmet and lagoon access are included.
