Parasailing at Playa Tortugas, Cancún — Open-Time Ticket

Amazing experience. All five of our family enjoyed the parasailing experience. We parasailed in two groups, one with two people and a second with three people. My wife is apprehensive about these types of activites but loved every minute. Awesome views and amazing and funny staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We splurged for the pictures as well. They did a great job in capturing the memories. Pancho and Juan did an amazing job in making us feel at ease and have a great time. We were located at the Hard Rock Cancun hotel.

I really liked this activity; you stay up there for about 20 minutes, which is more than enough. Personally I loved the experience, it's well worth it, you can take in the beautiful view of all of Cancún. For 2 people it came to around $3,000 Mexican pesos. The only bad point is that the crew that takes you out to board the boat gets annoyed if you don't tip them; I understand it's their job, but I don't think it's mandatory, since the tour is not cheap at all. Anyway, everything else was excellent.

An excellent adventure with incredible views. If you're someone who gets seasick, take Dramamine beforehand, because the trip can be a bit bumpy. Worth every peso/dollar spent.

Very good experience, you can see lots of little creatures in the water from above, mainly rays and turtles.

The desk is in Marina Adventure Bay at Km 6.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard, on Playa Tortugas in the Hotel Zone. This ticket is for arriving on your own; the operator sells the same flight with hotel transport separately. The operator says its boats are 30-footers built for parasailing, with a hydraulic winch and a 9 × 9 ft platform at the stern.

How long are you actually in the air?#

About ten minutes: once you are up, the boat runs three miles, and the operator says the time depends on the wind. The water taxi out and back and the wait while others in your boat fly come on top. You stay on the radio with the crew and decide how high to go, up to 260 ft.

Who can fly?#

Anyone from ten years old with an adult, weighing at least 29 kg. The whole flight takes up to 180 kg, whether one person flies or three, and there is a scale at the desk if you are unsure. An adult signs the waiver for anyone under 18, and the captain has the final say on who flies together.

Will I get wet?#

Only if you ask. You take off sitting on the platform and are reeled back onto it; if you want your feet to touch the sea at the end, ask for a splash before take-off. The water taxi ride out may leave you slightly wet.
