A day on the sea in Cancún costs between $45 and $1,495 in September 2026, and every activity has its own entry point: $45 per person for two hours at the wheel of a speedboat with Jungle Tour Adventure, 1,400 MXN (about $70) per jet ski for thirty minutes with The Jet Ski Brothers, $75 per person for a parasail with Parasail Cancun, $97 per adult for a five-hour Isla Mujeres catamaran with Cancun Sailing, $110 per person for two tanks at MUSA with Cancun Scuba Center, $359 for a whole fishing boat with Fishing Boats in Cancun and $1,495 for a whole sailing catamaran with Moana Catamaran Cancun. Four of these prices are per person; the other three are per jet ski or per boat.

Important

Checked in September 2026, every figure below is one named operator's price from its own page, in the unit that operator prints. Several of them leave a fee to be paid on the day, and it is named next to the price.

What does it cost to start in each activity?

The spread from $45 to $1,495 is not about luxury. It is about what you buy: a seat on a shared boat, a whole machine, a flight, two tanks, or a boat with a crew for your group.

What is added on the day, and what does it do to the order?

Four of the entry prices grow by a fixed fee once you reach the beach or the marina. Jungle Tour Adventure collects a $20 park and dock fee per person in cash. The Jet Ski Brothers add a 200 MXN permit and eco fee per person. Parasail Cancun charges $10 per person at check-in. Kianah's SportFishing takes a $10 fishing licence and a $5 dock fee per person on the morning.

Two operators put everything in the ticket. Cancun Sailing includes the $20 dock and reef fee and the hotel transfer; Only Bubbles includes the drive, the cenote entrance, gear and lunch. Moana Catamaran Cancun names a mandatory dock fee without printing the amount, and Cancun Scuba Center adds 5% to card payments.

Price per person before and after the fee paid on the day. Shared prices are the operator's total divided by the number the operator allows. Checked in September 2026.

All in, the speedboat seat at $65 still costs less than the catamaran at $97, but the catamaran is a five-hour day with lunch, drinks and the transfer against a two-hour trip you reach on your own.

Speedboat or catamaran: which boat trip?

Of the two boat trips, the cheaper is the one you drive yourself. Jungle Tour Adventure gives each pair a two-seat speedboat for two hours: about 40 minutes through the mangroves of the Nichupté lagoon behind a guide, about 45 minutes of snorkelling on the Punta Nizuc reef, then back, at $45 per person plus the $20 cash fee. A boat to yourself is $80. The driver must be 18, and children come from three.

Cancun Sailing sells the long day: five hours on a shared catamaran to Isla Mujeres with a snorkel stop at El Meco reef, lunch and an open bar on board and two and a half hours on the island, at $97 per adult.

For a family the catamaran works out best when booked early: at $77 per adult and $53 per child aged 5 to 11, two adults and a child pay $207, and children under five go free. Snorkelling on it is not allowed under 10 or over 60.

What does a couple pay for a jet ski and a parasail on Playa Tortugas?

Both stands are on the same beach, Playa Tortugas at Km 6.5 of the Hotel Zone, on the open-sea side. At The Jet Ski Brothers thirty minutes cost 1,400 MXN (about $70) for the machine whether one or two ride, and the permit and eco fee is 200 MXN per person, so a couple on one jet ski pays 1,800 MXN. Longer rides are $120 for an hour and $180 for ninety minutes on the operator's price page.

Parasail Cancun sells an open-time flight from its desk in Marina Adventure Bay, between 10:30 and 17:30: about ten minutes in the air while the boat covers three miles, up to 260 ft over the Hotel Zone, at $75 per person plus $10 at check-in.

Two people can fly together, and three if they weigh under 180 kg between them, so a couple pays $170 for the flight. Together with the shared jet ski that is 1,800 MXN and $170 for one afternoon on one beach — about $260. The jet ski driver must be 18; the parasail takes children from ten with an adult.

What does a dive day cost from Cancún?

Two tanks among the MUSA underwater sculptures cost $110 per certified diver with Cancun Scuba Center; the page lists the tanks and drinking water, a dive computer is $10 and cards add 5%.

Only Bubbles spends the day inland in the freshwater cenotes, door to door: pick-up at your hotel between 6:30 and 7:30, two tanks with a certified cave diver, gear, entrance and lunch, from $219 per person.

The two are different dives rather than a cheap and an expensive version of one. Without a certificate, Cancun Scuba Center sells one tank at MUSA with a lesson for $120. How Cancún compares with Cozumel for diving and snorkelling is set out in Cancún or Cozumel: where to dive and snorkel.

What does a boat of your own cost per head?

Dividing a boat price by heads only makes sense inside the capacity the operator prints. Kianah's SportFishing charges $780 for four hours on a 35-foot Bertram for one to six guests, tax included, and every guest pays $15 more on the morning for the licence and dock.

Moana Catamaran Cancun charges $1,495 for four hours on a 40-foot sailing catamaran for up to fifteen, with crew, open bar, wine and a snorkel stop; the dock fee comes on top.

A boat of your own divided by the number of guests, within the capacity the operator publishes. Checked in September 2026.
OptionPrice per boatCapacity per operatorPer person
Kianah, four hours, six guests$780 + $90 in feessix$145
Kianah, eight hours, six guests$980 + $90 in feessixabout $178
Moana, four hours, ten guests$1,495 + dock feefifteenabout $150 + dock fee
Moana, four hours, fifteen guests$1,495 + dock feefifteenabout $100 + dock fee

Below full load the arithmetic flips. Two people on the Moana still pay $1,495, which is about $748 each, against $97 for a seat on the shared catamaran to the same island. A private boat pays off with a group, not with a couple. On the Kianah, keep in mind that four hours give roughly two hours of fishing, because the clock runs from the dock and the grounds are 45 minutes to an hour out.

How do booking early and cancelling change the price?

Cancun Sailing and The Jet Ski Brothers reward planning. Cancun Sailing shows $77 per adult and $53 per child aged 5 to 11 for bookings made eight or more days before the Isla Mujeres day, against $97 per adult closer to the date. The Jet Ski Brothers take 10% off online bookings made at least seven days ahead, applied at checkout.

Cancellation terms run from generous to strict. Kianah's SportFishing takes no deposit and lets you cancel up to the last minute. The Jet Ski Brothers, Parasail Cancun and Cancun Sailing refund in full up to 24 hours ahead; Jungle Tour Adventure up to 48 hours; Only Bubbles up to 72 hours; Cancun Scuba Center up to 15 days.

Weather is a separate matter, and each operator words it its own way when the port is closed: Cancun Sailing refunds in full, The Jet Ski Brothers and Parasail Cancun let you choose another day or a full refund, and Jungle Tour Adventure offers a refund or a new date. Cancelling yourself because the forecast looks bad counts as a voluntary cancellation.

Common questions

What is the smallest sum that gets you out to sea in Cancún?

$45 per person for two hours at the wheel of a speedboat with Jungle Tour Adventure, two to a boat, plus the $20 park and dock fee in cash: $65 all in. From the beach, a jet ski shared by two is 900 MXN each with the fee.

Is the price per person or per boat?

Check the unit first. Boat trips, parasailing and diving are sold per person. The Jet Ski Brothers price the jet ski, up to two riders. Kianah's SportFishing and Moana Catamaran Cancun price the whole boat, up to six and up to fifteen guests.

Can you swim with whale sharks in late September?

No. Contoy Adventures gives the whale shark season north of Isla Mujeres as 1 June to 17 September, so after mid-September it is over.

Do you need a licence for a jet ski?

The Jet Ski Brothers' price page says no driving licence is needed. The driver must be 18 and show a valid ID, and two riders together must stay under 400 lb, about 181 kg.

Should you pay in pesos or dollars?

In the currency the operator prints. The Jet Ski Brothers price the jet ski in pesos and put 1,400 MXN at about $70 themselves; most others here print dollars. Cancun Scuba Center shows its rates in dollars or the peso equivalent, and cards carry a 5% surcharge there.
