Two tandem flights over the same city, worked from two different sides of it. The differences worth knowing before you book are where you actually meet, and what the price carries home with you.
Where do the flights launch from?
Paragliding Gran Canaria works the take-offs above Las Palmas — Los Giles and Las Coloradas — and describes the flight over the Las Canteras coast, the long urban beach. Despegue Parapente is based on the Carretera del Rincón and sells a panoramic flight along the same coast.
What separates the two prices?
Mostly what comes home with you. The €80 flight has photos in the price; on the €70 flight, agree the pictures with the pilot before you fly. Despegue Parapente also flies two longer formats — one with manoeuvres and video, one with a pick-up and video — and quotes those on request.
How far is it from the south?
Both schools are in Las Palmas, at the northern end of the island — from Maspalomas that is nearly the whole length of it. Plan it as a day in the capital rather than an add-on to a beach afternoon.

the pilot picks the take-off by the wind on your day, so wait for the school to confirm the meeting point and time before you plan the morning around it.
