The short version

All four teach in the Nabq Bay lagoons at the northern end of Sharm, where the water is flat and shallow enough to stand in while you learn. Only King of Lagoon includes a certificate in the price. The four schools, cheapest first:

  • €140 — Kite Addicts, a three-hour private lesson with equipment, about €47 an hour.
  • €175 per person — Red Sea Kiteboarding if you come as your own group of two or three; €240 per person otherwise, for six hours spread over two half days, about €40 an hour.
  • €225 — The Kite Bubble, the same three hours one-to-one, about €75 an hour.
  • €350 package — King of Lagoon: sessions one to four, eight hours in total, the IKO licence and one day of equipment rental, about €44 an hour — and those €350 also cover the licence and the rental day, so the tuition rate itself is lower there.

Good to know

  • The lagoon at Nabq is shallow enough to stand in over much of the teaching area, which is the main reason beginners learn here. You still wear a harness and a flotation aid and the instructor stays with you.
  • No. It is built for first-timers: a briefing, then the instructor stays with you the whole time.
  • Swimwear, a rash vest or lycra top, sunglasses with a leash, sunscreen and water. Board, kite and harness come from the school.
  • Yes — the school lists the IKO licence inside the €350 package, so it is not billed separately at the end of the course.
  • Swimwear, sunscreen, a rash guard or T-shirt for the sun, sunglasses with a strap, water and a towel. The kite gear itself comes from the school.
  • No experience is needed — the course is built for beginners. The school does not publish an age limit, so confirm it when you book.
  • Nabq Bay lagoon, Sharm El Sheikh (28.046102, 34.436858). The school sets the lesson time by the wind forecast and confirms it with you the day before.

I fully can recommend the kite bubble. Best coffe, best chai, best music and best instructors. Great experience, friendly staff. The destination is wonderful, even for the rest of the family who is not kiting. Great, relaxing atmosphere

It was amazing learning to kite surf with kite addicts. They were flexible with timings, extremely responsive and good teachers. A special shout out to Ahmed who was a lovely teacher and also made us giggle.

FAQ

Is the price per lesson or per person?
Kite Addicts (€140), The Kite Bubble (€225) and King of Lagoon (€350) price the session or the package as a whole. Red Sea Kiteboarding prices per person: €240 one-to-one, €175 each in your own group of two or three, capped at three people.
Is equipment included?
Yes, for the lessons themselves at all four schools — you learn on the school's kite, board and harness. King of Lagoon adds one day of rental after the course, and charges 90 € a day for the full kit beyond that. Bringing your own gear is not free: Kite Addicts charge 10 € a day for beach access, and The Kite Bubble does not state a figure, so we confirm it before you arrive.
Where do the lessons take place?
All four schools work in the Nabq Bay lagoons at the northern end of Sharm — King of Lagoon in front of the Laguna Vista Beach Albatros hotel, the others further along the same stretch. The water there is flat and shallow enough to stand in during the early sessions, which is why beginners are taught there rather than on the open coast.
Do I get a certificate?
King of Lagoon includes the IKO licence in its €350 package. Red Sea Kiteboarding offers kiteboarding certification on request and charges for it separately. Kite Addicts and The Kite Bubble sell tuition rather than certification — their three-hour sessions are an introduction to the sport.
How many hours does it take to learn?
The schools answer this with their own formats rather than with a promise. Three hours is an introduction (Kite Addicts, The Kite Bubble), six hours over two half days is Red Sea Kiteboarding's course, and eight hours across four sessions is what King of Lagoon considers a complete beginner path with a licence at the end.

What does each price actually buy?

€140 and €350 look like a wild spread until you see what each one covers. Kite Addicts and The Kite Bubble sell a single three-hour private session — one instructor, one student, school equipment. Red Sea Kiteboarding sells six hours over two half days, which is how most people actually learn, because a rest day between sessions helps more than a longer first day.

King of Lagoon sells the whole beginner path: four sessions, eight hours, the IKO licence and a day of rental afterwards so you can practise what you were taught.

What does bringing your own gear cost?

Rental after a course costs 90 € a day at King of Lagoon for the full kit, and Red Sea Kiteboarding has all lesson equipment in the price, with certification on request for a separate charge. If you are arriving with your own kite, ask about beach access when you book: Kite Addicts charge 10 € a day for it.

How big are the groups?

Kite Addicts and The Kite Bubble are one-to-one by design. Red Sea Kiteboarding caps a group at three and charges €175 per person instead of €240 if you bring the group yourself — two friends learning together save €130 between them.

Important

lessons are scheduled around the wind and the time is agreed with you, so leave a day or two of slack rather than booking the last morning of the trip.
