The short version
A whole day costs several times that, because the boat changes rather than the hours alone: a private full-day charter out of Bangrak takes up to twenty people, with breakfast and lunch on board and drinks all day. Extra guests are ฿2,500 each on the smaller yacht.

Two very different charters share this heading. One is a 52ft sailing yacht taken for a sunset out of Bophut, where three hours are the whole point. The other is a full day on a wooden gulet out of Bangrak, where you name the destination in the morning and the crew builds the day around it. Both are hired whole.
Is the price per person or for the boat?#
For the boat in both cases, but the headcount inside the rate differs sharply. The Independence covers two guests and charges ฿2,500 for each further one, up to six on the sunset trip, though the yacht itself is certified for twelve passengers by day. Boutique Yachting's day rate covers up to twenty, the operator states a maximum of fifty on board, and above twenty you ask for a quote.
Three hours under sail or eight on a gulet?#
The Independence is a Hans Christian yacht to a Doug Peterson design, and the sunset run goes towards Koh Som and Koh Phangan: sails up at 17:00, down at about 18:30 for the sunset over Ang Thong with wine and tapas, back at the beach by 19:30. She carries an engine too, so the crew decides on the day by the wind. Boutique's flagship is the M/S Naga, a 29.6-metre two-masted Turkish gulet with six cabins and twenty sun beds.
When does the van come for you?#
Both charters collect you from your hotel and both windows are fixed rather than negotiated. The Independence sends a VIP van between 16:00 and 16:30 for a 17:00 departure. The full-day charter works down the island by area, so the far south is picked up more than an hour before Bangrak, and the times shift if you agree a custom itinerary.

What is worth checking before you book?#
- Which hull you are actually getting. Boutique says you get full use of the yacht of your choice from its fleet, so confirm the vessel at booking.
- Children. On the Independence up to three children aged 16 and under travel free with their parents, and each further child is ฿2,500.
- Water gear. Towels, water-sport equipment and a 3.40 m dinghy are inside the sunset charter; on the full day kayaks and snorkels are supplied on request rather than as standard.
- How long the full day actually is: the price block says eight hours and the inclusions say eight to ten, so settle it when you book.
- Language. The full-day guide works in English and German; on the Independence only English is confirmed.
Important
Ang Thong National Marine Park closes from 1 November to 15 December every year, so the Ang Thong itineraries are off in those weeks. The Koh Samui and Koh Phangan routes keep running through the closure.
