The one-to-one end of the market is where the Russian-language schools sit. VictorDivePro's beginner day is two dives of 35–40 minutes to 12 metres, two guests per instructor, with the briefing in Russian and a city-limits hotel transfer included; the same centre prices snorkelling at 45 USD per person.

Is that price per diver or per package?#
Vietnam Fantastic and VictorDivePro price per diver. Vietnam Active writes its price as a package — $70 for 2 dives and $90 for 3 at Hon Mun, and $90 for its Hon Bac day — but its booking form totals 'Total per Person', so each of those figures is per diver. Several centres quote a bare figure, so ask which of the two you are being given before you agree a date.
How many divers share the guide?#
Group size varies more than the price does.
- Vietnam Fantastic: join-in tours with a dive master or instructor and a tour guide.
- Vietnam Active: three divers per PADI professional at Hon Mun; for its Hon Bac day it publishes no group size.
- Sailing Club Divers: three per instructor or divemaster, filling a full day, 07:00 to 14:20, with three dives on Madonna Rock, Dam Bay, Lobster Cave and the ship wreck.
- VictorDivePro: two guests per instructor.
- AKSENOV: one-to-one, no more than three dives a day.
- DIVE FOR YOU: run by a PADI instructor who is also an underwater photographer.

Where do the boats dive?#
The sites repeat: Hon Mun, Dam Bay, Hon Tam, Madonna Rock, Lobster Cave and a wreck, and Vietnam Active has added Hon Bac. The diving is shallow and unhurried — VictorDivePro's beginner dives go to 12 metres and last 35 to 40 minutes, Vietnam Active's Hon Mun dives run 50 to 60 (for Hon Bac it gives no dive length), divenhatrang.ru's 30 to 50.
Hon Mun or Dam Bay is decided at departure, by the weather, the current and the visibility.
When is the season?#
Sailing Club Divers runs trips in the bay every day of the year, and on Madonna Rock the best months are generally April to October. If your dates fall in winter, ask the school about the state of the sea for those days.
What is included, and what is not?#
Sailing Club Divers gives hotel transfers for central hotels, instructor or divemaster, the marine park fee, lunch, water, tea, coffee, fruit, all equipment rental, and a toilet and fresh-water shower on board. Vietnam Fantastic includes road transport to the port, the boat to Mun Island, the conservation-area fee, lunch, insurance and equipment.
divenhatrang.ru includes the transfer, tea, coffee, fruit and lunch on a roomy two-deck boat, photo and video apart; VictorDivePro leaves out photo, video and pick-up from outlying hotels. Russian Divers Team asks for booking at least a day ahead over WhatsApp.
