Day Diving in Hurghada — Two Boat Dives, Park Fees Included

Diving Star is a really good Diving Center, has lovely people and is such a good community. I highly recommend diving here. We started our diving career here, breathed air underwater for the first time, and have always enjoyed coming back for further courses.

Day Diving in Hurghada — Two Boat Dives, Park Fees Included

Diving with the team of Diving Star was my best diving experience to date by a mile! Everyone was very friendly and eager to answer any questions one might have during their time on the boat or the pre-dive briefing, and both the OWD and AOWD courses were very easy to understand.

Day Diving in Hurghada — Two Boat Dives, Park Fees Included

Simply the best experience of our trip to Egypt (Jan 3-9, 2026)! Absolutely fantastic service provided by this diving school for what was for us an unforgettable intro diving experience. Easy and efficient reservation and customer service, very careful explanation of the basic principles.

FAQ

Is the Marine Park Fee included?
It depends on the centre. Funnydivers says all its prices include the marine park fee, and Diving Star lists national park fees among the inclusions. Scuba Hurghada charges €5 per person per day on top, and Gagoblue charges the same €5 a day as a nature-reserve tax paid to the government. Carry it in cash.
Do I need a certification to dive here?
Not for the try-dive programmes. Diving Star, Funnydivers, Dive Academy Red Sea and Gagoblue all run a first day underwater with an instructor and no certification. Diving Star caps the depth at 7 metres and sets the minimum age at 10. The day-diving trips at €40–50 do require a valid card, and the centres ask you to bring your logbook.
Is equipment rental included?
On the try dives and the courses, yes — kit is part of the programme at Diving Star, Dive Academy Red Sea, Gagoblue and Funnydivers. On certified day diving it is included only at Scubadore, which puts wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask and fins in the €50. Elsewhere it costs €15 a day (Scuba Hurghada, Funnydivers) or €20 a day (Diving Star).
How long does a dive day last and when does it start?
It is a full day, not a morning. Diving Star plans about seven hours, Gagoblue about eight, and Scubadore publishes the clock: pickup between 08:15 and 08:30, back in port around 16:30. Two dives at two different sites with a surface interval, lunch on board in between.
What if my hotel is not in Hurghada itself?
Five of the six centres drive you from hotels inside Hurghada at no charge, and all five charge for El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay and Safaga: €10 at Gagoblue, €15 at Dive Academy Red Sea, €20 a day at Funnydivers, €25 per car at Diving Star. Gagoblue and Dive Academy Red Sea print the figure without a unit, so ask what it covers before you pay. Scubadore quotes those transfers on request. Scuba Hurghada does not publish a transfer at all.
In which languages will the instructor work?
Diving Star lists seven working languages — English, German, Russian, Polish, French, Spanish and Arabic. Gagoblue works in German and English and says so on the programme. The other centres here publish English only; we confirm the language of the guide for your date in writing.

ElyNot sure which one is yours? Ask Ely — she knows every tour in “Scuba diving”.Ask Ely

The number on a Hurghada dive list is rarely the whole bill. On top of the boat day sit the daily marine park fee and the rental kit, and every centre places them differently: inside the price for some, as a separate line you settle in cash for others.

What does the equipment cost?

Kit is €15 a day at Scuba Hurghada and Funnydivers, €20 a day at Diving Star, and nothing at Scubadore or on any of the try-dive programmes, where it is part of the deal.

Is the price per person or per group?

Read the unit as carefully as the number. Scuba Hurghada, Funnydivers and Scubadore quote the day per person; with Diving Star, Dive Academy Red Sea and Gagoblue, confirm the unit with the centre before you pay — it moves the bill further than the difference between the centres.

Does where you sleep change the bill?

The transfer inside Hurghada is included by Diving Star, Funnydivers, Dive Academy Red Sea, Gagoblue and Scubadore; with Scuba Hurghada it is worth asking at booking. Nobody includes the drive from El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay or Safaga — that is charged on its own, and on a family booking it can weigh more than the gap between two centres.

CentreTransfer from outside HurghadaCharged
Gagoblue€10ask at booking
Dive Academy Red Sea€15ask at booking
Funnydivers€20a day
Diving Star€25per car

Which certification course?

For a first certification, the three courses differ by €110. The €250 course at Scuba Hurghada is three days with equipment and lunch, and leaves the €55 PADI certification fee, the course book and the daily park fee outside.

The €325 course at Gagoblue includes all equipment, meals, drinks and the Hurghada transfer, with only the €5 daily reserve tax on top. The €360 course at Diving Star puts the PADI E‑Learning, the certification fees and the equipment inside one number, so the theory is done at home before you fly.

Important

the marine park fee — €5 per person per day, charged by the state to everyone who goes out on a Red Sea boat — is already paid by Funnydivers and Diving Star, while Scuba Hurghada and Gagoblue charge it separately, in cash on the day.
