Diving on Fuerteventura is sold by the dive, not by the day. In the north the boats go out from Corralejo to Lobos; in the south Costa Calma dives from the shore and Morro Jable dives from a boat on the Veril de Jandía. What the fare leaves out decides the real cost.
Are you paying for a day or for a dive?#
For a dive. Fuerteventura Buceo states it outright — the published price is per person and per dive — so a two-dive morning is €90, not €45. Dive Pro Fuerte's €45 line is the dive alone, with €5 insurance and €10 equipment hire beside it. Abyss sells single dives at €55 and packs of two, four and six at €90, €180 and €250.
Shore entry or boat dive?#
Abyss dives from the shore on the east coast, with transport to the site in the price: El Jablito at 13 m, Archies Bay at 16 m and Las Salinas at 30 m for advanced divers. Dive Pro Fuerte walks in at La Lajita, where angel sharks are regular from November to March, and takes advanced divers to the Veril Grande and Veril Chico at the Morro Jable lighthouse.
The boats leave from two ports. Fuerteventura Buceo runs to the Veril de Jandía from Morro Jable at 09:00 and 11:00, with the transfer to the boat, hot showers and a dry area inside the dive price. Punta Amanay leaves Corralejo at 08:30 for experienced divers and 10:30 for all certified levels, for more than twenty sites around Lobos, from six metres to over forty.
What does a first dive cost?#
More than a dive for a certified diver, because an instructor stays with you and the ceiling is twelve metres. The cheapest of them carries a free hotel transfer, the dearest is made from a boat rather than off a beach, and one of them is not scuba at all: on Peter Diving the tank floats above you and a hose brings the air down to six metres, which is why the centre takes children from ten.
What is worth checking before you book?#
- The unit. Abyss, Dive Pro Fuerte and Punta Amanay print the figure without saying per whom — confirm it when you book. Abyss's headline “Fun Dive From 40€” matches no row of its own table; the lowest per-dive figure the table supports is about €41.70 inside the six-dive pack.
- Insurance is compulsory for recreational diving in Spain and is priced separately by most centres: €5 at Dive Pro Fuerte, €7 for 24 hours at Fuerteventura Buceo, €9 a day at Abyss. Punta Amanay leaves it outside the dive price and sells it at the centre.
- Tax. Fuerteventura Buceo states that 7 % IGIC is not included — on the dives, on the snorkelling and on the try dive alike.
- Equipment. Dive Pro Fuerte's price line says €10 while the same page's text says €5 a day, so ask which applies; Fuerteventura Buceo charges €15 a day for the full set.
- Dates and transport. Peter Diving is listed as available July to November on the centre's experiences page but not on the activity page itself; Punta Amanay does not include the journey to the dive centre, while Dive Pro Fuerte drives you from your hotel free.
Important
€45 buys one dive, not a diving day. Before you compare centres, add the compulsory insurance, the equipment if you are not carrying your own, and at Fuerteventura Buceo the 7 % IGIC, which sits outside every price on that centre's list.
